re: Wicked price changes  Apr 12 2007, 06:04:22 PM
why is it that jersey boys and mary poppins made price changes a few weeks ago, but only when wicked follows suit it becomes a big deal? anger over the outrageous prices should be universal and not just aimed at one particular show.

i just wanted to add my two cents on the krysta "reviews". I thought krysta was simply wonderful as wendla. i saw her monday evening and she had a few performances under her belt by then, but i had no qualms with her performance. her singing voice is naturally lower than lea's, but it added a new sense of excitement to the songs, as she could still hit all the notes beautifully. she was very satisfying as an actress and her performance all around was remarkable. i have seen lea do the role and i

high school, college, dance school, whatever. just make sure the ID is valid and not expired.
re: Pirate Queen tonight: More drama offstage than on  Apr 5 2007, 01:31:04 PM
i think if stephanie tries to sing throug her sickness to go on tonight, she will most definitely be out the next few shows. from what i heard, she was in pretty bad shape and "spoke" through most of 'Woman'. It is a tough decision either way, but i wish everyone related to the production the best of luck tonight.

re: Leah Michelle.....Wicked?  Feb 20 2007, 12:56:21 PM
oh believe me, david stone approached lea a few months ago about a stint in wicked. it will be happening, its just a matter of when. and my guess is, look for an announcement around the time her 1 yr contract is over with SA.
re: Miller is Color Purple's New Celie  Feb 16 2007, 01:05:49 PM
Wow i'm so glad I got to see Jeanette before this change took place. I had never even heard of her before I saw the show but I left believing she gave absolutely one of the most powerful performances I have ever seen. Broadway is letting go of an amazing performer!

re: 'Dark I Know Well' Question  Jan 30 2007, 01:20:13 PM
actually i think the most telling lyric "you say all you want is just to kiss goodnight then you hold me and you whisper 'child the lord won't mind'".

it says it all. obviously there's sexual abuse happening and the fact that it becomes very clear and yet is never spelled out for you adds to the brilliance and power of the song.

re: Spring Awakening rush information  Jan 27 2007, 05:22:03 PM
you can rush any show of spring awakeing. you have to have a student ID and cash. standard rush, 2 tickets per ID. rushing on wknds isnt as easy as weekdays (true for almost any show) so show up earlier than when the box office opens, and take into consideration the popularity of the show.

this site is very useful

re: Spring Awkening Rush Question  Jan 22 2007, 12:23:36 AM
i posted this somewhere else already, but just to help out.... i went this past thursday. got there around 8/830am. no one was there. people didn't start showing up for the line until around 945am. but 10am when the box office opened there were maybe 7 of us in line. 745 is MUCH too early. if you really want to be on the safe side, 9am should be just fine. you have the freezing cold weather working on your side.
re: Spring Awakening rush information  Jan 19 2007, 11:29:11 PM
went on a thursday around 830am. not a soul was there. by the time the box office opened at 10 there were maybe 7 of us in line. maybe it was bc it was a weekday, or maybe because of the freezing temperatures.... but just letting you all know. good luck! oh and the student tkts are $26 now
re: Donna Vivino!  Dec 25 2006, 04:11:30 PM
I completely agree that this girl is insanely talented and has a very long career ahead of her! She'll be missed in Martin Short, she was so fabulous. I'm sure bigger things are heading her way very soon.

"When I saw it during a preview their was a mother and her daughter watching it and they walked out after the masturbation part."

oh, the irony...

re: What about Stephen Spinella in SPRING AWAKENING?  Dec 8 2006, 01:59:03 AM
i don't think it was in slow motion, though i guess it does kinda seem like that. i think it was the deep pain of his loss and just how he was grieving, what seemed to be in slow motion was actually intense crying
re: What about Stephen Spinella in SPRING AWAKENING?  Dec 8 2006, 12:45:58 AM
he's really amazing. Both of the adults are. The small subtleties in each different character are so so tiny but they make the roles he jumps in and out of full of life and emotion and you instantly understand the personality of each of them just by reading off of those subtleties. Very, very talented man.
re: Spring Awakening return trip - quick thoughts  Dec 5 2006, 01:06:39 AM
I saw it tonight for the first time and the way that scene was done, i don't understand how anyone could have laughed. it was wonderfully handled. really, the entire show was. i'm still trying to soak in everything i saw and experienced. the piece was so powerful for me. many, many return trips are being planned. my only regret is that i never took my chance to see this in a smaller, more intimate venue before its bdway transfer. i can't even imagine how amazing it must have been then.
