Theatre Tuscaloosa is again working with the Alabama Conference of Theatre to host the annual Alabama Community Theatre Festival (ACTFest). Eight community theatres from throughout Alabama will be presenting their best work. These eight theatres will bring 60-minute performances (short plays or cuttings of longer plays) that must be set-up and broken down in just 10 minutes.
Up to two productions will be named "Best of Show" and be eligible to represent Alabama at the Southeastern Theatre Conference's Community Theatre Festival, and from there, two shows will be selected to compete at the American Association of Community Theatre National Festival! Other ACTFest awards will include Best Direction, Best Actor, and Best Actress, and may include others at the discretion of the judges.
Tickets to individual shows and/or the whole festival are now available to the general public. This is an excellent opportunity to see many different shows in just one weekend and to cheer on your local theatre!
