Recently named as one of the top 50 children's book of the last 25 years, Pinkalicious the Musical tells the story of a headstrong little girl who loves the color pink so much that she can't stop eating pink cupcakes despite warnings from her parents. Her pink indulgence lands her at the doctor's office with Pinkititis, an affliction that turns her pink from head to toe. This colorful fun-filled family musical is sure to have everyone in the family tickled pink.

The Wetumpka Depot Players will soon be reminding audiences that being a Southern Belle is not a part time job. Instead it's a cradle to the grave commitment. A Southern Belle Primer (Or Why Princess Margaret Could Never Be a Kappa Kappa Gamma) will run for one weekend only at the Depot Theatre beginning tonight, May 29th. Always Patsy Cline author Ted Swindley has taken Marilyn Schwartz's charming book of the same title, and crafted it into a delightful evening at the theatre proclaiming the joys of southern sisterhood.

The Wetumpka Depot Player's production of The Fantasticks took top honors at Southeastern Theatre Conference on Saturday, March 9 in Mobile, Alabama. Competing against eleven community theatres from across the south, the Wetumpka Depot Players were named Best in Show. The production also took top regional awards with Best Direction, Best Lighting Design and Best Set Design. The musical, a romantic journey of two young people finding true love, featured a company of 15 cast, crew and musicians from the River Region.

The Wetumpka Depot Players have been putting actors on stage to perform over the last 34 years. The search is now on for volunteers who enjoy production from the backstage view. The award winning Depot Players will host a volunteer recruitment party on Thursday February 20 at 6pm at the Depot Theatre. Those interested in learning about Depot volunteer opportunities are encouraged to attend. 'As we continue to grow, we are constantly challenged with meeting the needs of our productions,' said Depot executive director, Kristy Meanor.

The nation's largest theatre convention, SETC plays hosts to festivals, workshops and auditions. "Participating at SETC is not only a great honor for the Depot Players, but it is also an investment in the continuation of our production of high quality community theatre," said Kristy Meanor, Depot executive director. "We return from festival with new ideas and a stronger company and all of that positive growth gets passed on to our patrons."
