Don Pomponio and Anselmo settled in a Paris Hostel with their two daughters, Lisetta and Doralice. Pomponio enters a gazette announcement to marry Lisetta, but maintains an idylle with the innkeeper Filippo. For his part, Doralice is being courted by the beautiful Traversen, but prefer married with Alberto who travels the world looking for the perfect wife. After multiple misunderstandings, Pomponio will accept to yield to the inclination of Lisetta.
