For his new production Thomas Hauert explores human consciousness. We are constantly exposed to countless sensory stimuli. An unconscious selection of them is what we refer to as our ‘consciousness’. It is therefore not autonomous. The ‘self’ emerges from that wonderfully complex organism that is our body.
Hauer wishes to translate all this into individual, collective and supra-collective movements, a kaleidoscope of events on stage which initially appear to be unrelated but which in an elusive way are intertwined and generate meaning.
On stage we see eight dancers and one musician. The audience is immersed in a spatial, auditory experience, a journey through space and time in which Hauert works with Columbian composer Fredy Vallejos, whom he met at Ircam in Paris.
