The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre, through its outside theatrical producing division, WOB Entertainment, and Walkersville Southern Railroad have formed a partnership to produce Interactive Mystery Trains for the railroad in addition to its other excursion and dinner trains.

The new mystery trains will be available to those looking to book the train for private events, and the mysteries can to be tailored for each specific group. The partnership between Way Off Broadway and Walkersville Southern Railroad brings together two of the area's most leading amusement companies, combining their individually unique assets to create entertainment experiences like no other in or around Frederick.

Detectives and mysteries are such a huge part of our entertainment culture. From early characters such as Sherlock Holmes and Miss Marple to the countless number of crime drama series on television today, finding one's self involved in a web of intrigue and solving a case is a favorite past time. That's never been more true than at Way Off Broadway where the special interactive mysteries are some of the most popular events at the dinner theatre.

"Everyone loves playing detective," says Justin M. Kiska, Chairman & Executive Producer of WOB Entertainment. "With these mysteries, the characters are so over the top; they make for some very interesting and fun suspects. With Way Off Broadway's mysteries now on a train, which, by itself, conjures up thoughts of Agatha Christie's classic Murder on the Orient Express, it makes for a great entertainment experience all around."

"We're very excited to be able to offer many different types of events," adds Brooke Kovalcik, Walkersville Southern Railroad's General Administrator. "These new mystery trains will make a fun addition to the other excursions the railroad has throughout the year."

WOB Entertainment is a multi-faceted division of The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre which has been a leader in the region's performing arts community since it first opened. WOB Entertainment was created in 2009 to manage and develop all of the company's activities outside of the theatre itself. Under the direction of its Chairman, Justin M. Kiska, WOB Entertainment was formed to develop, produce, and presents stage productions at venues throughout the area. In addition to producing and managing its own productions, WOB Entertainment offers theatrical consulting and operational services, both creative and managerial, to other arts and commercial organizations and companies. www.wayoffbroadway.com

Walkersville Southern Railroad, celebrating its 20th Anniversary this year, operates regular trains on weekends from May through October, with charters and special trains running all year. From scenic excursions for the whole family to romantic dinner trains, history and adventure can be found aboard the Walkersville Southern. The railway line between Walkersville and Frederick, on which the Walkersville Southern currently runs, was built between 1869 and 1872 as part of the Pennsylvania Railroad Frederick Secondary. In 1968 when the Pennsylvania Railroad merged with the New York Central, the line was part of the resulting Penn Central Railroad. In 1993 the railroad began offering excursion trains, turning it into a one-of-a-kind entertainment destination in Frederick County. www.wrss.org
