The Vagabond Players's contemporary production of Moliere's The Misanthrope runs weekends through September 29. This high comedy, directed by Howard Berkowitz; had audiences laughing opening weekend. The production is sleek, sophisticated and riotously funny.

Alceste decides he will live and speak only the truth, but, alas, he is hindered by the hypocrisy of his social circle and the machinations of love. He is also humbled by his own double standard. He falls in love with a lovely woman who epitomes the falseness he despises. When he and his friends gather, it makes for one satiric cocktail party. Eric C Stein and Laura Malkus lead the talented cast also featuring: Rich Espey, Cherie Weinert, Daniel Douek, Jessica Behar, Adam Bloedorn and Matthew Shea, a recent graduate of Towson University.

Located at 806 S. Broadway, the Vagabond Theatre is easily accessible to patrons.

Show times are Friday and Saturday at 8:00; Sunday at 2:00
