The Mobtown Playwrights Group is back on stage this month with three weekends of repertory theatre featuring the best of Baltimore's writing and acting talent. The show runs July 9 through 23, with different plays peformed on Fridays and Saturdays. In order to see all the plays, audiences will visit Mobtown twice! Tickets to all shows are $10.

The production features four original one-acts, each set in a different time and place. Three will run on Fridays and the fourth, longer play will run on Saturdays. Scheduling the plays in such a manner challenges the actors and provides the audience with a wealth of new work in a concentrated period of time.

Scheduled to run on Fridays July, 9, 16 and 23:
The Docents by Kimberly Lynne. During Japan's 1939 invasion of China, two volunteers from the Beijing art museum encounter an AWOL soldier, a thief, who slowly determines that they are carrying precious artwork wrapped in burlap.

Bookends by Kathleen Barber. In fifteenth-century England, two sisters find themselves at odds when faced with their father's demanding requests.

Conference at Night by Mark Squirek. In 1954 the comic book industry is slowly dying. Suddenly Marie finds herself the center of attention as her cover art causes a spike in sales for a barely living company.
Scheduled to run on Saturdays July 10, 17 and 24:
Walk Like a Man by Jim Carey. At 48 years old, Alan finds himself injured, unemployed and alone after losing his wife to a coworker. His rage builds over the course of the play until it explodes in an act of violence from which he may never recover.
The Mobtown Theater is located at 3600 Clipper Mill Road, under the JFX in Hampden. For more information and to purchase advance tickets, visit Mobtown's website at www.mobtownplayers.com.
