The Mobtown Playwrights Group concludes its 2010-2011 season with Welcome to the Good Life, Baby!, a reading of a new one-act play by D. L. Faulkner. Performances will take place February 11, 12, 18, and 19 at 8 pm.
It's the dystopian future, and you want a child. Rather than find a mate, you head to the local department store to pick your bundle of joy fresh from the box. But what do you do if you're a breeder, condemned to give birth to babies that will never be yours? As Dora and Cindy discover, this is a dangerous question to ask.Tickets are $10 and may be purchased at the door or online at www.mobtownplayers.com. One ticket grants access to all four performances. An audience "talk back" session follows each reading. Audience members may attend as many times as they like to experience how the play changes as a result of the workshop process and audience feedback.D. L. Faulkner is a theatre major at Goucher College. In 2008, she attended the Sewanee Writers' Conference and studied under the guidance of Lee Blessing and Dan O'Brien. This summer, Faulkner traveled to England, where she shadowed theatre professionals through a partnership with the University of Sussex and the Theatre Royal Brighton. Her work has been featured in festivals at Goucher College and Horizon Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia. She is currently working on her senior independent project, Color Pending, which will premiere May 2011 at Goucher.Videos
