Tonight, April 12th, 2013 at 8pm the Milburn Stone Theatre will open the 2007 Tony award winner for best musical, Spring Awakening. BroadwayWorld has a sneak peek at the boys of Spring Awakening below!

Spring Awakening is based on Frank Wedekind's 1906 play by the same name that caused outrage and controversy when it premiered in Berlin. Due to the show's frank subject matter and adult themes it was banned or censored for more than fifty years with most productions of the show only lasting two performances. In 2006, playwright Steven Sater and composer Duncan Sheik updated the show and turned it into a powerful rock musical that ran to sold out crowds on Broadway and won the show several Drama Desk and Tony awards.

Based on the classic German coming of age drama, Spring Awakening is a gripping musical drama that stands the test of time. Adults scheme with teens as their pawns, while keeping them in the dark about the facts of life. In this stellar, multiple Tony award winning musical, the 19th Century German setting is brought to the present with a thrilling rock score. With show stopping musical numbers "Momma Who Bore Me," "The B*tch of Living" and "Don't Do Sadness."
