Lincoln Amphitheatre To Hold Evansville Auditions 3/13

Lincoln Amphitheatre will host local auditions next month for the cast of the second season of LINCOLN: Upon the Altar of Freedom.

Auditions for the cast will take place in Evansville on Saturday, March 13 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. CST at the Civic Theatre Annex in Washington Square Mall.

All actors must provide a resume, headshot and prepare a contemporary monologue and 16 bars of music. A CD player will be provided. Applicants for technical positions can mail their resume to the Amphitheatre offices, or bring them to the Annex.

A total of 27 acting roles and 14 technical positions will be filled following auditions in Evansville, Chicago, and Memphis. Experienced high school and college students are encouraged to apply. Students must receive a reference from their drama teachers.

LINCOLN will take the stage for its second season at 1,500-seat Lincoln Amphitheatre on June 18, 2010, and will run nightly with the exception of Mondays until August 7. The non-profit Lincoln Amphitheatre is supported in part by individual and corporate donations. The "Lincoln's Legacy Lives" fundraising campaign is underway to help fund the second season's production of LINCOLN, a two-act play with music by playwright Ken Jones.
