Laurel Mill Playhouse to Kick Off 2014 Young Adult One Act Festival, 7/4; SUMMER IS FOR SHAKESPEARE to Begin 7/7
Laurel Mill Playhouse, located at 508 Main Street in Laurel, MD., presents a lively collection of five one act plays for their Young Adult One Act Festival. Performances run Friday, July 4 & Saturday, July 5 at 8pm, Sunday, July 6 at 2pm and Friday, July 11 & Saturday, July 12 at 8pm and Sunday, July 13 at 2pm.

Memory Garden by Mark Scharf - A young widow with two young daughters devotes herself to maintaining the roadside memorial for her husband who died in a tragic accident.When a man claiming to be a reporter stops to get her story, Angie unexpectedly finds the answers to her own questions about what happened on that terrible day.Creation by Albi Gorn -Two Couples have front row seats to the Beginning of it all.Coming Out Party by Albi Gorn -Friends try to get their depressed friend to dive back into the dating poolSummer is for Shakespeare! Program for 6th-12th graders
Come along and join us we explore the world of Shakespeare. Activities will include vocal exercises for projection/vowel pronunciation, working on the language and poetry, understanding the text and scenes, working on acting/characterization and bringing the scenes from Shakespeare to life. Participants will present a series of scenes wearing Shakespearean costuming, as an end of session show. This camp will be for students entering 6th-12th grades. Dates: July 7th- 18th, 9:15am-1:00pm, M-F; Performance Friday July 18th at 7pm.
