Howard County Cancels Their Cultural Arts Showcase

The 21st Annual Cultural Arts Showcase, presented by the Howard County Arts Council (HCAC) and the Recreation & Leisure Service (RALS) Branch of the Maryland Recreation and Parks (MRPA) has been cancelled. Recent weather conditions combined with the poor economy have made it impossible to move forward with the Showcase this year.

The Showcase, scheduled to take place at the Howard County Center for the Arts on March 4 & 5, 2010, will not be rescheduled. HCAC and the Recreation & Leisure Service (RALS) Branch of the Maryland Recreation and Parks (MRPA) apologize for any inconvenience and will be mailing refunds as soon as possible.

Started in 1989, the Cultural Art Showcase is a program designed to assist schools and cultural and civic organizations in identifying visual, literary and performing artists for workshops, performances, demonstrations, and residencies. It gives attendees an opportunity to view the work of over 45 performing artists, each presenting an 8-minute excerpt of their work, and meet with artists and performers to discuss their programs and requirements.
