Everyman Theatre Celebrates New Marquee, 12/5

By:

Before Baltimore lights the Washington Monument for the holidays on December 6th, celebrate a lighting of a different sort with Everyman Theatre!  On Wednesday, December 5th at 5:30 PM, Everyman Theatre will light the marquee at its brand new, state-of-the-art home on Fayette Street for the very first time.

The lighting of the marquee signifies the arrival of Everyman Theatre to its new neighborhood of the Bromo Tower Arts and Entertainment District.  Guests will be welcomed with a few opening remarks from Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi followed by the lighting.  The theatre company has been preparing to move in to its new location for over five years now.  Construction on the building formally began in April, 2011.  The theatre company moved into its new home at the end of November, and will officially open to the public during its Grand Opening Week in January (January 14-20, 2013).

Everyman’s final show on Charles Street, Heroes, is scheduled to close on Sunday, December 2nd.  The theatre company will officially open its new building with the Baltimore Premiere of the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning tragi-comedy,August: Osage County.  The production will open during a weeklong celebration from January 14th through January 20th, and will continue to play through February 17th

“This is the beginning of such an incredible series of Grand Opening events for Everyman,” says Founding Artistic Director Vincent Lancisi.  “By lighting the marquee, we are announcing to the whole city – and beyond – that Everyman has arrived!  We are thrilled to be a part of such a vibrant and exciting new neighborhood, and we can’t wait to welcome you inside.”
