Drama Learning Center Presents Hairspray June 17-25

Welcome to the sixties! Teaching Young Actors, Drama Learning Center's Teen Professional Company, will be presenting the toe-tapping musical, Hairspray, June 17-25. Directed by Stephanie Lynn Williams (DLC's owner and artistic director), with music direction by Tiffany Underwood Holmes, and choreography by Jason Kimmell, this upbeat musical promises to have audiences dancing in their seats!
Hairspray delighted audiences by sweeping them away to 1960's Baltimore, where the 50's are out -- and change is in the air. Loveable plus-size heroine, Tracy Turnblad, has a passion for dancing, and wins a spot on the local TV dance program, "The Corny Collins Show." Overnight she finds herself transformed from outsider to teen celebrity. Can a larger-than-life adolescent manage to vanquish the program's reigning princess, integrate the television show, and find true love (singing and dancing all the while, of course!) without mussing her hair?Dates & TimesJune 17, 18, 23, 24, and 25 at 7:30 pm
