Fresh off of Broadway, 13, the musical will premiere locally at the Drama Learning Center in Columbia, MD. This rock musical, performed by Teaching Young Actors, DLC's Teen Professional Company, follows Evan Goldman, a nice Jewish boy from NYC's upper eastside who is forced to move to Indiana with his mother after his parents get a divorce. To make matters worse, Evan is on the verge of being Bar Mitzvhed (For you gentiles that means he's becoming a "man"). The chaos that ensues is truly hilarious, real, and heartfelt. The lyrics and music are by Jason Robert Brown, based on the book by Dan Elish & Robert Horn.
