The longest continuously running summer theatre in Maryland, Cockpit in Court Summer Theatre, opts for music and murder for its 2016 season openers! In residence at CCBC Essex, this community theatre has been mounting Broadway-quality productions for 44 years.

GODSPELL - James Hunnicutt directs.

Godspell (2012) offers a high-energy romp through the gospel of Saint Matthew. Conceived and originally directed by Jean-Michael Tebelak with music and new lyrics by Stephen Schwartz.

Cockpit's production of GODSPELL runs June 10 through June 26 on the Mainstage in the College Community Center at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard. Performances will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, June 23, Fridays June 10, 17 and 24, and Saturdays June 11, 18 and 25, and at 3 p.m. on Sundays, June 12, 19 and 26. Single tickets are $22 general admission, $20 for seniors (60+) and $14 for children 12 years old and younger.

TOWARDS ZERO - Joey Hellman directs.

Agatha Christie is at it again. Mayhem and murder at a remote seaside house party has guests dropping like flies. According to legal minds, murder is not the beginning of a mystery but the end. Thus the title - Towards Zero. What brought these people with seemingly little in common together to cause that end!

Cockpit's production of TOWARDS ZERO runs June 11 through June 26 in the Cabaret Theatre, Second Floor of the College Community Center at CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Boulevard. Performances are 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, and 3 p.m. on Sundays. Single tickets are $17 for general admission and $15 for seniors (60+). Not appropriate for children.
