Children's Playhouse of Maryland Opens THE LITTLE MERMAID

The Children's Playhouse of Maryland, Inc., in residence at CCBC Essex, performs Disney's "The Little Mermaid, Jr." for its 2012 holiday fare. The musical runs weekends at 1 p.m. today, Dec. 8 through Dec. 23 except the Dec. 15 performance is sold out with an additional performance 4 p.m., Dec. 16, in J-137, the J Building Lecture Hall, CCBC Essex, 7201 Rossville Blvd. Tickets, which are $10 for all seats, are available from the CCBC Box Office at 443-840-ARTS (2787). Please note that Brunch with Santa and Brunch with Santa and Show events on Dec. 15 are sold out.

The Little Mermaid is a magical fairy tale revolving around a beautiful young mermaid (Allison Comotto of Towson) who longs to leave her ocean home to live in the world above. But first she must defy her father, King Triton, (Joey Bird of Randallstown), deal with an evil sea witch named Ursula (Jamie Watson of Baltimore), and convince a handsome prince (Brad Bowers of Towson) that she is the girl with the beautiful voice.

Featured players include: Philip Merrick (Chef Louis and the Pilot), Zachary Miller (Flotsam) and Johnathon O'Neal (Sebastian) of Baltimore, Thomas Gardner of Joppa (Scuttle), Charlie Holt of Kingsville (Jetsam), Karli Shirk of Lutherville (Carlotta), and Allison Naglieri of Parkville (Flounder). The Mersisters are played by Caroline Halligan and Rachel Miller of Baltimore, Victoria Caldwell of Joppa, Erin Sullivan of Kingsville, Nicole Smith of Lutherville and Maddie Ulevich of Phoenix.

Others cast members are: Tiffany Flaharty and Isabelle Parrish of Abingdon, Wesley Brown, Zoe Feldman, Eva Hellerbach, Claire Iverson, Gwendolyn Lowell, and Sheridan Merrick of Baltimore, Nicole Arrison, Kelsey Feeney, Maggie Moloney and Isabelle Wilson of Bel Air, Megan van Emden and Emily Wheeler of Cockeysville, Ali Radomsky, Amanda Ellifritz and JJ Ygot of Essex, Kevin Cossaboon of Kingsville, Matthew Byrd of Lansdowne, Gino Cardoni of Middle River, Emily Ricci of Nottingham, Grace Aubele and Olivia Aubele of Perry Hall, Will Foohey of Pikesville, Angela Boeren of Rosedale, Nina Cicero of Street, and William Macsherry and Maia Vong of Towson.
