BTA Announces Next Post-show Showcase Cabaret 5/3 At Spotlighters Theatre

By:

The Baltimore Theatre Alliance (BTA) invites members and supporters of the theatre community to the next installment of its wildly popular Post-show Showcase Cabaret, held on Sunday, May 3rd, 2009 from 6pm-9pm at Spotlighters Theatre, located at 817 St. Paul Street in Baltimore. The Cabaret will feature performances by Baltimore's musical theatre artists and excerpts from current and upcoming productions at BTA member theatres.

Currently in its third year, the BTA Post-show Showcase Cabaret aims to promote Maryland's musical theatre performers and productions. Audrey Herman Spotlighters Theatre, located at 817 St. Paul Street, sets the scene for the upcoming Cabaret on May 3rd. This will be the last in the series of 6 six cabaret shows produced during the 2008-09 theatre season. As the doors open at 6pm, the patrons will enjoy complementary refreshments and a cash bar, followed by the show at 6:30pm. The Cabaret will feature performances by some of Baltimore's finest musical theatre artists and excerpts from current and upcoming productions at BTA member theatres.

The current season of the Cabaret is especially exciting, as the BTA welcomes the new musical director and long time Baltimore theatre artist, Michael Tan. "I'm always looking for new and established talent to perform at the BTA Showcases!" says Tan. "I consider the Cabaret to be a good learning experience for performers, but also want to make sure that they are ready to perform well, while keeping the level of excellence that our audiences expect. "
