TV Land has closed a half-hour workplace comedy script deal with multimedia studio Electus, an operating business of IAC (NASDAQ:IACI) which was announced today by Keith Cox, Executive Vice President, Development and Original Programming for TV Land. The script revolves around a 30-something woman as she navigates the executive ranks among her old-school male counterparts while her 20-something male assistant tries to make it amid his female-dominated peers - two fish, a big corporate pond, and very little water. The untitled script will be written and executive produced by Jon Sherman ('Frasier') with Electus' Chairman and Founder, Ben Silverman and Jimmy Fox also executive producing.

MTV's “Big Tips Texas,” a new 14-episode, half-hour docu-series, follows the lives of a group of fun-loving girlfriends serving up southern hospitality at a popular Texas watering hole while hoping to make their dreams a reality. The 30-minute premiere episode, which aired as a sneak peek on Wednesday, October 2 at 11:00 p.m. ET/PT following “Miley: The Movement,” delivered 1.0 million total viewers, ranking as the #1 original cable series in its timeslot (P12-34) and the #1 program in its timeslot with women 12-34.* “Big Tips Texas” officially kicks off on Wednesday, October 9 at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT with two back-to-back episodes.

ABC Family has cast Jennie Garth to join former “Beverly Hills 90210” co-star Tori Spelling in the network's comedy pilot, “Mystery Girls.” Both Spelling and Garth will also serve as executive producers. The casting marks a reunion of the two from their days on the hit series.

Despite a 27-minute delay in its start time due to a football overrun, “Saturday Night Live,' with host and musical guest Miley Cyrus (4.5/13 in metered-market households from midnight-1:30 a.m. ET [actual start time was 11:57 p.m. ET], 2.7/14 in adults 18-49 in the Local People Meters)has equaled the show's top 18-49 rating (2.7) in the Local People Meters since April 13 (with host Vince Vaughn and musical guest Miguel). The 2.7 ties both last week's season premiere (with host Tina Fey and musical guest Arcade Fire) and the show's May 18 season finale (with host Ben Affleck and musical guest Kanye West). The 4.5 in metered-market households is within 4% of last week's season-premiere 4.7 despite this week's 27-minute delay.
