The show reveals our nation's growing pains, and those of Jackson himself. He was unexpectedly famous, and thrust into leading a country. He is sometimes called the American Hitler. He asked for forgiveness rather than permission for what he did.

The Spellbound Development Company, with permission from the Anne Frank Fonds in Basel, Switzerland, is set to present a podcast of Meyer Levin's long-lost original radio play, ANNE FRANK: THE DIARY OF A YOUNG GIRL, in honor of its 60th Anniversary. Not heard since the eve of Rosh Hashanah in 1952, when it aired nationally on CBS Radio, Levin's play was the first adaptation of Anne Frank's diary. A popular and critical success, Billboard described it as 'shattering to the emotions.'

Rivendell Theatre Ensemble's Artistic Director Tara Mallen announces the first production in its 2012-2013 Season dedicated to the theme "reinvention" is WRENS, by Anne McGravie and directed by Rivendell Theatre Ensemble's co-founder Karen Kessler, September 6 - October 13, at Rivendell's new performance venue, 5779 N. Ridge. Previews are $15 and run Thursday, Sept. 6 - Saturday, Sept. 8 at 8 p.m. There is a Gala Performance Sunday, Sept. 9 at 6 p.m. and opening/press night is Monday, Sept. 10 at 7 p.m. The regular performance tickets are $30 with the schedule Thursdays and Fridays at 8 p.m. and Saturdays at 3 and 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. is a benefit performance of WRENS with the original 1996 award-winning cast reprising their roles. On Sunday, August 26 at Bushwick, Brooklyn's The Well, goth legend Peter Murphy and special openers Crystal Stilts, Small Black, and Airwaves will perform. The Well is located at 272 Meserole Street, two blocks from the Montrose stop on the L line.

This September, The Phoenix Theater Project launches into its third season with ART by Yasmina Reza and translated by Christopher Hampton. Internationally acclaimed and winner of the 1998 Tony Award for best play, ART is a sharp and sarcastic comedy that has been performed around the world.

CTC is the industry leader in commissioning and producing plays by women specifically for young audiences, adding several strong young women to the canon of female protagonists. On Thursday, August 23 at 6:00 PM, the Ribbon Cutting and Official Relighting of the Marquee of the Historic North Theatre in Danville, VA, will take place. It is free and the public is invited.
