This question is not usually asked out of any type of malice, just some sort of genuine curiosity. But the answer can be so complex!

Well, it’s that point in the semester. The point when it gets dark super early, the semester has been going on forever and ever, and the homework is starting to pile up again post midterms.

This semester has been...different. It’s been different for everyone, obviously. This year, for our first slot of the season, we were supposed to do Hello, Dolly! Then we were going to do Nunsense for the second slot. I was VERY excited, especially for the second slot.

I am currently a senior pursuing my BM in Musical Theatre at Anderson University. A lot of people hear that and say a?oeWhat? Your BA?a?? And I have to explain that, no, I am not getting a BFA in Musical Theatre, or even a regular old BA, but a BM. And people then ask: what does that mean?

Next (and likely last) in my series of interviews with professional performers from my hometown of Columbus, Indiana is my interview with Mary Claire King. Mary Claire is currently the understudy for Velma in Chicago on Broadway!

I do not know what will happen. I would love to get the chance to perform in some capacity this semester.

As Ia??ve been thinking about going back to school, I thought I would share with you what will be my list of essentials heading back into the academic year studying the arts.

I attend a small school, one I went to with the promise of the benefits of a a?oesmall school program!a?? But what does that mean and look like, exactly?

I will be the first to admit, I do not know everything about self-taping. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with it, however, like it or not it's about to become a BIG part of the theatre and musical theatre world in the coming months/years/decades/forever/etc.

With so much going on in the world, and so many other stories to be told and amplified, my perspective on theatre school feelsa??a little bit small. However, I also know that perhaps this message is one some people may need to hear at this moment, and so I will share.
