If I were to describe this semester so far in one word, I would say busy, however, I have a sneaking suspicion that that will be my word of choice for EVERY semester.
I have always loved writing and used to want to pursue a career as an author. As I grew up and became more busy, I lost more and more time practicing writing and only practiced writing in the form of poetry every now and then. Upon starting the playwriting class last semester, my inspiration was relit and I began writing more than I had in months.
We make mistakes and get burnt out and there’s nothing wrong with that. It’s okay to feel negative emotions, towards the things you love, towards yourself, or otherwise. It will pass and it will get better.
Being involved in these films has helped me to expand my comfort levels with film acting and to learn more about how the process works. Along with that, the importance of connections is common knowledge. It doesn’t hurt to make connections with other people, especially if your experience working with them on a project was a positive one.
This week marks that of my spring break which has been, in the simplest terms, a real curveball. Maybe this is an unexpected description for a break from school. They are more commonly seen as relaxing, restful, fun. While I would agree that my break has been all of these things, it has also felt very odd.
Finding new ways to appreciate life is something everyone should do, especially if you are so wrapped up in one thing for such strenuous periods of time.
