TACT/The Actors Company Theatre, the critically-acclaimed and Drama Desk nominated Off-Broadway company 'dedicated to presenting neglected or rarely produced plays of literary merit,' presents the first New York revival in 30 years of The Killing of Sister George, the controversial 1964 play byFrank Marcus. The first production of the company's 22nd Season will be directed by TACT Company Member Drew Barr, who directed the company's Fall 2012 production ofBrian Friel's Lovers. Performances began at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street - between 9th & 10th Avenues) on September 23, 2014. Opening night is set for Tuesday, October 7 at 7:30pm. The Lyric Stage Company of Boston's 2014-15 Season begins this month with Stephen Sondheim's masterpiece SWEENEY TODD, The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. The musical thriller runs now through October 11, 2014. SWEENEY TODD features Music and Lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and Book by Hugh Wheeler. The hit off-Broadway show, Fuerza Bruta, returns to New York City with Fuerza Bruta WAYRA, the electrifying and innovative immersive theater experience. Having recently thrilled audiences in London, England and Buenos Aires, Argentina, the New York City production of Fuerza Bruta WAYRA began performances at the Daryl Roth Theatre (101 E. 15th Street, NYC) on Friday, June 27, 2014, and features the very best of Fuerza Bruta and some never before seen elements. A few weeks ago, Blumenthal Performing Arts completed a renovation project at the beautiful Belk Theater. One of the major changes you will notice is the new theater seating. The former seats were original and installed in 1992 when Belk Theater was built.

Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel Schonberg's Miss Saigon hosted its 25th anniversary gala performance of the musical in the West End on Monday, September 22, 2014, featuring original stars Lea Salonga, Jonathan Pryce, Simon Bowman and other original cast members and alumni. The cast and crew of the West End's current revival of Miss Saigon put together a fun video to celebrate the musical's 25th Anniversary. Check it out below!

Cirque du Soleil, ETH Zurich, and Verity Studios have teamed up to create a short film featuring 10 quadcopters -- i.e. drones -- in a flying dance sequence. The scene begins with a man working late at night, when suddenly his workshop loses power and he must struggle to work by the light of a single kerosene lamp -- that is, until his lamps take on a life of their own. The national tour of Pippin launched in Denver this week, and host of 'In Focus' Eden Lane sat down for a one-on-one with composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz (GODSPELL, WICKED, Pippin, and more). Lane also met the director and driving force behind this re-imagined Pippin, Tony Award-winner Diane Paulus. This episode also includes highlights with cast members Matthew James Thomas as Pippin, Lucie Arnaz as Berthe, Sasha Allen (a finalist on the 4th season on THE VOICE) as Leading Player, and Tony Award-winner John Rubinstein, who created the role of Pippin in the 1972 original Broadway production. As outrage continues to grow over the NFL's mishandling of domestic violence charges against former running back Ray Rice, protesters have started to call for CoverGirl, the league's “official beauty sponsor,” to withdraw its support. Comedian Megan MacKay's decision to tackle the incompetence the league has exhibited with her “Ray Rice Inspired Makeup Tutorial,” definitely fits the situation and is perhaps one of the best satires to come out of a scandal so entirely unfunny.

Playwrights Horizons presents the New York premiere of Bootycandy, a new play written and directed by Obie Award winner Robert O'Hara (director of In the Continuum, author of Antebellum and Insurrection: Holding History).
