By engaging these creative members of the Los Angeles community to act and serve as Ambassadors of LA, NewFilmmakers Los Angeles (NFMLA), LA INC. and LA Weekly are able to share what these artists call their LA; an insider perspective into this diverse, cosmopolitan city and its neighborhoods.

LoNyLa, a new space for artists worldwide will launch its first lab with the development of nine scripts. LoNyLa, is a transatlantic lab that helps writers develop material over a 12-week period, by communicating with seasoned artists in three linked hubs, London, New York and Los Angeles, where writers are exposed to different creative approaches and processes.

'Deathtroupe' is a comedy with blood-curdling screams, a murderer by the name of 'The Chopper' running loose, grilled cheese sandwiches, Jell-o, and Captain Morgan.

The Almeida Theatre's creative learning programme, Almeida Projects, will present the world premiere of a new commission for young people by Natalie Mitchell. Crawling in the Dark, a frank coming of age story inspired by David Eldridge's The Knot of the Heart, will be performed at the Almeida Theatre from 5 - 8 April 2011, directed by Michael Buffong. Designs are by Signe Beckmann, with lighting by Jason Wescombe and sound by Howard Wood.
