A steady stream of good news has been flowing from the Dallas Theater Center in recent weeks - popular artistic director Kevin Moriarty's contract was renewed through 2014; the company ended 2010, a particularly difficult year for most arts organizations, in the black; and fundraising powerhouse Heather Kitchen was hired as its new managing director. Now, Dallas Theater Center has launched a $12 million advancement campaign, with $8 million already committed.

Annie Baker's 2010 OBIE-Award winner for Best New American Play, Circle Mirror Transformation, closes out Actors Theatre's 25th anniversary season from April 22 through May 8 on Stage West at The Herberger Theater Center, 222 E. Monroe. Called "absorbing, unblinking and sharply funny" by The New York Times and a "very compassionate and quite lovely new play from rising young scribe Annie Baker" by The Chicago Tribune, the play follows four students in a small-town Vermont acting class.

Toronto flutist Samantha Chang is putting on a flute extravaganza for her debut at Koerner Hall on April 16, 2011, at 8 PM. Audience members are encouraged to bring their flutes to play along in her arrangement of 'Samantha Fantasy'. Two free rehearsals for this piece are open to public: Sunday, April 3 from 5:30 PM to 7:00 PM at Pleasant View Library Auditorium (575 Van Horne Avenue) and Sunday, April 10 from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM at the Women's Art Association Gallery (23 Prince Arthur Avenue).
