Sierra Stages completes its second season of musicals and plays with the Tony Award-nominated revue celebrating the songs of Rodgers & Hammerstein: 'A Grand Night for Singing'. The revue will play for four weekends only, October 21 through November 13, at the Off Center Stage in downtown Grass Valley, and features the talents of five of Nevada County's finest musical theatre performers: Terry Brown, Rebekah Martino, Robert Meyer, Kim Wellman and Carolyn Winters. The performers will be accompanied by an eight-person band, led by musical director, Ken Getz. The production is directed by Nancy Haffey and Peter Mason, with choreography by Grace Fae.

Imagination Theater in association with Ensemble Theatre Company announce auditions for Quilters. Quilters auditioners will be seen in the order in which they arrive on October 23rd between noon and 4:00pm. at Imagination Theater. When finished singing a hymn or folk song (please bring sheet music) auditioners will be taken thru a few bars of movement and then excused.

NYFOS Next is the latest innovation from the NEW YORK FESTIVAL OF SONG (NYFOS), now in its 23rd season, focusing on contemporary songs that defy easy categorization and redefine the boundaries of the song genre. The inaugural NYFOS Next concert on November 16 at 7 p.m. is co-hosted and co-curated by the dynamic young composer-performer GABRIEL KAHANE, with NYFOS's Steven Blier, Michael Barrett and Benjamin Sosland (program and singers TBA). The second concert in the series will be hosted by composer PHIL KLINE and friends.

The Centre Theatre will present the world premiere of 'Molumby's Million,' a new comedy about heavyweight champ Jack Dempsey and his big fight in a little Montana town. 'Molumby's Million' opens November 5 and runs through November 28. Showtimes are 8 p.m. with Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.

The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts celebrates the centennial of one of the most versatile, innovative and influential artists of the twentieth century, Alwin Nikolais, in the multimedia exhibition Alwin Nikolais' Total Theater of Motion.
