Fortyfivedownstairs has announced its November programming. Street art and gardens have combined in the installation created by young artists from the Artful Dodgers Studios. In the theatre we have two solo shows from strongly contrasting environments performed by outstanding actors, Ellie Nielsen (Waiting for Isabella) and Hannah Norris (My Name is Rachel Corrie). With one set in mid twentieth century Paris, the other in war torn Gaza, these two works could hardly be more different!

Burning Coal Theatre Company will present Conor McPherson's St. Nicholas November 4 - 21, 2010 at the Murphey School, 224 Polk Street, Raleigh. Performances are Thursdays through Saturdays at 7:30 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. Tickets are $20 or $15 for students, seniors (65+) and active military. All Thursday night tickets are $10 apiece and the first Sunday, November 7 at 2 pm is our 'Pay What You Can' and Audio Described performance. The first Friday, November 5, includes a gala beginning at 6:15 pm (food and drink will be served), along with a cake and coffee in the lobby following the performance. The Rose Theatre is delighted to announce its first home-grown production of 2011: William Shakespeare's As You Like It, directed by Stephen Unwin, in association with Kingston University. The production will run from 18 February - 26 March 2011.

The George Foster Peabody Awards' 70th annual search for excellence in electronic media has begun. More than 100,000 call for entries alerts have been mailed worldwide, supplemented by advertising in media-industry publications. Original broadcast, cablecast and webcast programs presented in the calendar year 2010 are eligible. The entry deadline is Friday, Jan. 14. Entrants may apply online at www.peabody.uga.edu.

In response to popular demand, The Blank Theatre Company has announced the return of Nicholas Brendon in 'The Santaland Diaries' by David Sedaris. Once again directed by Michael Matthews, 'Santaland' begins preview performances on Friday, November 19, and opening night is set for Saturday, November 27 at 8:00 at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood. Last year's entire engagement of this show at The Blank's 2nd Stage Theatre sold out before performances began.

Ian Talbot's production of Ken Hill's The Invisible Man will preview at the Menier Chocolate Factory from 13 November with press night on 24 November and is booking until 13 February 2011. The cast is Michael Beckley, Gerard Carey, Natalie Casey, Geraldine Fitzgerald, Maria Friedman, Christopher Godwin, Teddy Kempner, John Gordon Sinclair, Jo Stone-Fewings and Gary Wilmot.

While individuals half her age are barely surviving the rigors of 9 to 5, musical comedy legend and icon, Ms. Carol Channing (along with husband, Harry Kullijian) starts her day on Oct 23rd with a 6:00am flight from Palm Springs , CA, to appear at a Barnes & Noble to speak and sign copies of her new CD entitled 'For Heaven Sake' in Fort Collins, CO, followed by department tours and a sold out master class before the students and facility of Colorado State University (CSU) and wrapping her evening by hosting an exhibit unveiling dedicated to the fashions and life of her dear friend, the late Mr. Blackwell. Denver Post Theatre Critic, John Moore caught up with Ms. Channing backstage for his podcast.

The Brimmer Street Theatre Company has announced it will present the world premiere of Summer in Hell by Miles Brandman, directed by David Jette, at studio|stage in Hollywood, with performances beginning on Thursday, November 11. Opening night is set for Saturday, November 13 at 8:00. Summer in Hell will play a limited engagement through December 18.

This season, Mercury Baroque offers a refreshing approach to Handel's Messiah with three special programs. For the first time ever, Mercury Baroque hosts a Sing-Along performance of Handel's holiday masterpiece on Friday, December 10th at 8:00pm. Families and children alike will enjoy learning about the instruments of the orchestra and Handel's music itself during the Messiah for Families performance on Saturday, December 11th at 10:30am. Lastly, the orchestra performs the rarely heard original ‘Dublin' version of the Messiah on Saturday, December 11th at 8:00pm. A fun pre-concert lecture begins on Saturday at 7:15pm in the Wortham's Green Room.
