The Alchemy Theatre, in association with LAByrinth Theater Company, are presenting ?Sweet Storm? by Scott Hudson, who was recently awarded the Daryl Roth 2009 Creative Spirit Award, Off Broadway at The Kirk Theatre (Theatre Row), 410 West 42nd Street, NYC. Padraic Lillis directs the new play that features Jamie Dunn and Eric T. Miller. The opening is next Wednesday, June 17 at 7 pm and the show has now been extended an additional week until July 12. The Scenic & Costume Designer is Lea Umberger; the Lighting Designer is Sarah Sidman and the Sound Designer is Elizabeth Rhodes. The Casting Director is Judy Bowman Casting and Production Supervisor: La Vie Productions. Running time = 90 minutes with no intermission

Susan Claassen, who stars as legendary Hollywood designer Edith Head in ?A Conversation With Edith Head? will be appearing in California in June. Following her engagement in London last summer, Ms. Claassen began her US tour by opening the 16th season at Houston?s Theater LaB with a sold out 5-performance engagement. Her US tour also included appearances in Tucson at the Invisible Theatre, at Arizona?s Tubac Center of the Arts, and, most recently, at the 35th Annual Symposium of the Costume Society of America in Tempe and Phoenix, AZ where she, once again, received rave review's. Woodie King Jr's New Federal Theatre will present the final reading in the Gurfein Foundation/Ntozake Shange Play Reading Series: Derek Walcott's new play Marie Laveau, with music by Galt MacDermot. The reading will take place Sunday, June 28th at 3pm, at Castillo Theatre, 543 West 42nd Street (between 10th and 11th Avenues). Clinton Turner Davis directs a cast that features Arthur Bartow, Trazana Beverley, Thomas Jefferson Byrd, Gerard Catus, Lia Chaing, DK Dyson, Stu Richel, Martin Shakar, and Marie Thomas as Marie Laveau.

Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation announced that the recipient of the Noël Coward Fellowship will be Amy Anders Corcoran. The Noël Coward Fellowship was established in April of 2009 with funding from the Noël Coward Foundation. The fellowship is designed to provide early-career Members and Associates who have a proclivity for comedic work with the opportunity to develop professionally by assisting a Mentor Director on a major production of Noël Coward?s work.
