This summer, BroadwayWorld.com introduced it's first, exclusive, fully scripted program series - SUBMISSIONS ONLY, created, written, and directed by Kate Wetherhead and Andrew Keenan-Bolger. The pair also stars in the series, which enjoyed an extremely successful Season 1 on YouTube and was streamed throughout the summer on BroadwayWorld.com in anticipation of SUBMISSIONS ONLY's second season, which will now be broadcast EXCLUSIVELY on BroadwayWorld. Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin, two Broadway legends who first appeared together giving Tony Award winning performances in Evita, will bring their critically acclaimed theatre concert to the Barrymore Theatre for 63 performances only beginning Wednesday, November 16 at 8pm through Friday, January 13. Last night the American Foundation for Equal Rights (AFER) and Broadway Impact launched the all-star Broadway premiere of '8'. The play, which chronicles the historic trial in the federal legal challenge to California's Proposition 8, was written by AFER Founding Board Member and Academy Award-winning writer Dustin Lance Black and directed by Tony Award-winning actor and director Joe Mantello. Last night, September 19, Rosie O'Donnell hosted a special event honoring Nancy Coyne, CEO of Serino Coyne, Ruth Ponturo, Teacher/Choreographer and Marva Smalls, EVP of Public Affairs & Chief of Staff to benefit Rosie's Theatre Kids Foundation. The evening featured performances from Rosie's Theater Kids and Aaron Neville, a live auction hosted by Z100's Elvis Duran and Rosie, and more. The Mountaintop stars Samuel L. Jackson as Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., and Angela Bassett, and is directed by Tony Award® nominee Kenny Leon (Fences, A Raisin in the Sun). On Sunday, September 18th at 8pm, singer-songwriter Eli Bolin (I Sing!) presented his original music along with guest stars Anthony Rapp (RENT), Lin-Manuel Miranda (In the Heights), Ann Harada (Ave. Q), Greg Hildreth (Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson), Shaina Taub (The Daughters), Allison Posner (Volleygirls), Olli Haaskivi (The Bardy Bunch) and lyricist Sam Forman. Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus' global hit musical MAMMA MIA! celebrated another milestone during its landmark 10th Anniversary year last night, September 14, when it became the 10th longest-running show in Broadway history, surpassing the record previously held by landmark musical Miss Saigon (4,097 performances). RELATIVELY SPEAKING, three one-act comedies by the prolific writing trio of Ethan Coen, Elaine May and Woody Allen, begins previews on Tuesday, September 20, 2011 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre. 'Tis the season again. Well, almost. The 2011 edition of the annual Carols for a Cure album is now in the works. Purchase of the album benefits Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. The album is produced by Rock-it Science Records. RSR's popular series Broadway's Carols for a Cure is currently in its twelfth year. This highly anticipated annual holiday release features casts from the current Broadway line-up of shows performing new and traditional holiday music. Broadway's Carols for a Cure offers a 'snapshot' of each season, as the casts and orchestras from each show on Broadway perform their own holiday track. Since 1999, Broadway's Carols for a Cure has featured the creative talents of thousands of Broadway's brightest stars and has raised over $3 million for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

On Friday, August 26, Nathan Lane, Matthew Broderick, Mario Cantone, Scott Adsit, Joy Behar, Tovah Feldshuh, Eugene Pack and Dayle Reyfel teamed up for tow special edition performances of Celebrity Autobiography at Guild Hall in the Hamptons. The box office for the Broadway premiere of Katori Hall's Olivier Award-winning play, The Mountaintop, opens this Thursday, August 25, 2011. Primary Stages will continue its 27th season with the New York premiere of the new play, Motherhood Out Loud, conceived by Susan R. Rose and Joan Stein. Directed by Lisa Peterson, the cast will feature Mary Bacon, Saidah Arrika Ekulona, Randy Graff and James Lecesne. The cast of Paper Mill Playhouse's premiere of a new Disney stage musical, Newsies met the press today, and BroadwayWorld was there for the event!
