Beck Center for the Arts and Connect to Beck (C2B) are hosting the first annual Bike for Beck tour Saturday, May 19, 2012. Cyclists of all ages are invited to participate. The bike tour begins at 9:00 a.m. at the Beck Center, located at 17801 Detroit Avenue in Lakewood, and continues through the Metroparks. Bike for Beck is followed by an afternoon of arts and entertainment on the Beck Center campus. Proceeds from this fundraising event benefit Beck Center's arts education programs.

L!VE Asbury Park has announced its upcoming production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch. Chris Hall (Hedwig) and Kendal Hartse (Yitzhak) have signed on as the leads along side musicians Michael Thomas Murray, Mike Preen and Steve Kelly. Hedwig will run June 21, 22 and 23rd for five live performances at The Press Room, located at 610 Bangs Avenue in downtown Asbury Park.

As part of the Partners in Preservation grant contest that has taken over New York City, Louis Armstrong House Museum had almost 1,000 people attend its Garden Party this past weekend on May 5 & 6. LAHM also hosted a student photo that included a 5' 6' Louis Armstrong cutout of the Jazz legend in the Quad on the Queens College campus.

Opening on October 16, 2012, Daniel Brush's Blue Steel Gold Light will comprise examples of his large-scale paintings, his earliest gold-granulated jewels and objects, a selection of his most significant steel and gold tablet and wall sculptures, along with his witty magnetic adornments made from plastic, aluminum, steel and precious gems. The exhibition will remain on view until February 17, 2013.
