New Georges has announced that the company has received a three-year, $90,000 grant from The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation which supports the creation of an artistic director's discretionary fund. This grant is intended to help New Georges maintain financial stability during these volatile economic times, and thereby continue to do excellent artistic work, take risks, commit to new plays/artistic projects, and invest in artists over time.

Julie Reiber and Paul Anthony Stewart will be kicking off the 2010 Main Stage season in The Last Five Years. Written and composed by Jason Robert Brown and directed by Anders Cato, this musical tells the story of the relationship of Jamie and Cathy in a unique way: Cathy starts the show at the end of the relationship and moves back through to the start, whereas Jamie begins at the couple's first meeting and moves forward through time. This unique and touching musical features incredible music and an intimate look at two people seeking nothing more than love.

Pull-Tight members and the general public are invited to our next Prelude event on Thursday, April 8, at 7:00 pm at the theatre. Dr. Steve Cook will speak on 'Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat: Egypt, the Bible, and Popular Culture.' The cast of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat will open the Prelude with a brief scene from the show, followed by Dr. Cook's talk and discussion with the audience. The Prelude should last approximately one hour and is free.

Know Theatre of Cincinnati is pleased to announce a special off-night production of The Eyes of Oedipus, a new adaptation of Oedipus Rex. Know Theatre company member, Alison Vodnoy has created a new adaptation of the classic Greek tale and Darnell Benjamin will be playing Oedipus. Eric Vosmeier, Managing Artistic Director of Know Theatre, will direct the piece. The Eyes of Oedipus will open on Know Theatre's stage on off-nights April 28 and playthrough May 15, 2010.

The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Peck School of the Arts and the Marcus Center for the Performing Arts are excited to present Unruly Music. This four-night audio and visual experience includes concerts by chamber music ensemble C2 and compositions and performances by Peck School of the Arts faculty and students. The festival runs April 15-18 at 7:30pm in Vogel Hall.

Steven White, in his Met debut, will conduct the performance of La Traviata on April 7. As previously announced, White will also lead La Traviata on April 10, and Yves Abel will conduct on April 13, 17 matinee, 21, and 24.

The Little Theatre of Fall River, Inc. has announced audition dates of April 6 and 7 for their upcoming production of Other People's Money at 7pm.

Sony MASTERWORKS announces the signing of 4TROOPS. Their debut self-titled CD will be available on May 11th with a portion of the proceeds from the sales to benefit veteran-related organizations. Sony chose to release the album during Armed Forces Week (May 8-May 15) which honors Americans serving in all five services - Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force and Coast Guard.

Marsha Heydt and the Project of Love will be performing at The Garage on April 15, at 10:30pm and 2:30am, and June 6, at 12:00pm and 4:00pm during brunch.
