Nexus Multicultural Centre Announces Upcoming Events Through 4/16

The Nexus Multicultural Arts Center has announced its upcoming events through April 16. They include Silk Road: "Sounds of the Sufis" CD Launch, ThWack Percussion Ensemble, African Percussion, Matsuri Taiko Percussion, and A Burlesque Eggstravaganza by Peaches ‘n' Gin Burlesque.

Silk Road: "Sounds of the Sufis" CD Launch
Thu 25 March, 8pm
Take a musical journey to the heart and soul of the timeless Silk Road trading route and celebrate the launch of accomplished Punjabi musican Inderjit Singh's new CD, Sounds of the Sufis. Enjoy a soulful evening of sufi ghazals (love poetry songs) performed by Inderjit on the harmonium, accompanied by Jay Dabgar on tablas, Josh Bennett on sitar and dilruba and Keith Preston on santoor.

Thu 8 April, 9pm - ThWack Percussion Ensemble
ThWack Percussion Ensemble features four local percussionists on a variety of tuned and un-tuned percussion instruments, creating raw, edgy rhythms coupled with delicate and dynamic melodies.

Fri 9 April, 9pm - African Percussion
Join a group of exciting and talented African-Australian performers as they trace the African spirit on its long journey to the land down under.
This event is presented by the Multicultural Communities Council of SA, with support from the Department of Families and Communities.

Sat 10 April, 9pm - Matsuri Taiko Percussion
After a sell-out Adelaide Fringe season, dynamic Japanese drumming group Matsuri Taiko are taking to the stage again to show off their finely choreographed movements and electrifying, powerful, pulsating rhythms. "... a deliciously different musical treat...", FiveAA Radio

A Burlesque Eggstravaganza by Peaches ‘n' Gin Burlesque
