New Line Theatre, 'the bad boy of musical theatre,' announces the release of artistic director Scott Miller's sixth book on musical theatre, SEX, DRUGS, ROCK & ROLL, AND MUSICALS, exploring these three powerful cultural forces and the musicals that tackle them - The Rocky Horror Show, Bat Boy, Grease, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, and many others - discovering what these works reveal about American culture and politics.

The Theatre Project, Off-Broadway's 'Adventurous New Company,' will be presenting the world premiere production of Sean Pomposello's new play, B*tch. The limited engagement will run for 12 performances at The Historic Players Theatre from January 5-29, 2012.

Off-Broadway's The New Group presents Burning, written by Thomas Bradshaw and directed by Scott Elliott, kicking off the company's 2011-12 Season. The production officially opens on Monday, November 14 at 7:00 PM. Burning plays a limited engagement through December 17 at The New Group @ Theatre Row (The Acorn Theatre, 410 West 42nd Street).

Frank Theatre will present THE SANTALAND DIARIES, the stage adaptation of David Sedaris' hilarious account of his stint as a Christmas elf in Macy's 'SantaLand' Nov. 27-Dec. 30 at the Assembly of the Woman's Club of Minneapolis, located on Loring Park at 410 Oak Grove Street, Mpls, MN 55403. The Players' GUILD OF LEONIA presents: FANTASTIC MR. FOX, by Roald Dahl, Adapted for the stage by David Wood and irected by Ron Rosario. This classic tale tells the hysterically funny story of a wily fox who uses cunning to outwit three bumbling farmers. Actors Theatre of Louisville is thrilled to announce the lineup of the 36th Annual Humana Festival of New American Plays. This year's Festival will feature 10 world premieres that celebrate 14 vital voices in American theatre today. Described by Gordon Cox at Variety as "one of the most prominent showcases of fully staged new plays in the U.S." the Festival is a driving force of new play development in America and attracts a national and international audience of nearly 40,000 theatre professionals and enthusiasts each year. This season, the Humana Festival runs February 26 through April 1, 2012. Managing Director Jennifer Bielstein states,"I am incredibly proud of our artistic team and the selections in the 2012 Humana Festival. The plays that we announce today will join a prestigious catalogue of work we have launched into the American theatre repertoire.
