Smile Train, the world's largest cleft lip and palate charity, has announced today that supermodel and actress Christie Brinkley will serve as Global Ambassador for World Smile Day on October 5. This marks the first year the event will be taking place in New York City's Times Square.

The owner of Pink Lotus Yoga (PLY) in Lakewood firmly believes that the practice of yoga ultimately is about fostering a sense of community, not just within the four walls of her Lakewood studio but in the surrounding community at large - through outreach and involvement. That is why Camino is sponsoring "Bend for Beck," a fundraiser for a local nonprofit organization, on Saturday, September 29 at her studio. All proceeds benefit the Creative Arts Therapies programs at Beck Center for the Arts.

The Folger Theatre continues its 2012/13 season with the Washington premiere of The Conference of the Birds, a theatrical adventure based on the poignant 12th-century Persian fable by Farid Uddi Attar about the search for the divine and the quest for truth.
