The Columbus Symphony, CSO Music Director Jean-Marie Zeitouni, and guest pianist Nareh Arghamanyan will perform the first 2012-13 regular season concert program, Tchaikovsky & Shubert. From the soaring, folk-flavored themes of Tchaikovsky's beloved Piano Concerto No. 1 to Schubert's expansive and exhilarating final symphony, melody reigns supreme in this enthralling program. Winner of the 2008 Montreal International Music Competition, Armenian-born Nareh Arghamanyan is one of the finest pianists of today's promising young generation and will perform the Tchaikovsky work. The program will also include Glinka's Overture to Russlan and Ludmilla.

Last night, at the DJ Awards show in Ibiza's famous club Pacha, Armin van Buuren was awarded for 'Best International DJ' and 'Best Trance DJ'. As voted by EDM lovers from all across the globe, it is the fifth year in a row that the Dutch DJ returns home with the trance award. He received the award for 'Best International DJ' two times before in 2009, 2011.

From Wednesday 31 October - Saturday 3 November, peek into the hearts of Melbourne's teenagers as they experience love for the very first time in Love Letters. A co-production between St Martins Youth Arts Centre and Arts Centre Melbourne, written by Kylie Trounson and St Martins' Teen Ensemble and directed by Sarah Austin, Love Letters takes its inspiration from real-life love letters that have been collected by the artists and crafted into the performance.

Kentwood Players was founded by the late Arky and Jan Marcom, Elizabeth Thornberg and Betty Francis in December 1949, and performs out of the Westchester Playhouse, located at 8301 Hindry Avenue, LA 90045. In 2009-2010, the group celebrated its 60th anniversary season during which the musical, 'Li'l Abner" was presented from March 12 to April 17, 2010. The production was directed and choreographed by Victoria Miller and produced by Susan Goldman Weisbarth, and both went on to win the group's Marcom Masque Awards as Best Director and Best Producer for the season.

American Repertory Ballet will present its first 'Emerging Artist Showcase' with performances at 8:00 PM on Friday, October 26th, and Saturday, October 27th at Princeton Ballet School's Studio A, 301 North Harrison Street in the Princeton Shopping Center, above McCaffrey's Supermarket. The performances will feature choreography created and performed by the dancers of American Repertory Ballet and the ARB/Princeton Ballet School Trainee Program. While no one will be turned away at the door, a suggested donation of $10 will go directly to the artists.

The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles (SCLA) presents its 22(nd) annual Simply Shakespeare reading of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream,' September 27 at the Freud Playhouse, UCLA Campus. This event features a star-studded tie-dyed cast of hilarious hippies for an evening filled with peace, love reading a psychedelic 1960's adaptation of Shakespeare's play that includes iconic music of the era. The Performing Arts Project Presents the New York Series Dance Intensive, an exciting full day of dance classes with the Tony Award-winning choreographer of Newsies, Christopher Gattelli, Assistant Choreographer of Smash Ryan Kasprzak, and choreographer and SAG Award-winning actor Susan Misner. The New York Series Dance Intensive consists of three two-hour classes taught individually by Gattelli, Kasprzak and Misner, and culminates in an hour-long panel discussion with them.

The Collective Theatre presents its inaugural production: the Chicago premiere of HooDoo Love by Olivier Award-winning playwright Katori Hall, directed by Nelsan Ellis, star of HBO's hit series True Blood. HooDoo Love plays now through October 21, 2012 at the Athenaeum Theatre, 2936 N. Southport Avenue in Chicago. On September 24th, pianist Steven Blier headlined a benefit concert at the New York Botanical Gardens to raise funds for FSH Muscular Dystrophy (FSHD). The most common form of muscular dystrophy, FSHD has left Blier unable to walk. Sharing the stage with him was his friend Kelli O'Hara, the multi Tony award-nominated singer and actress who has entranced audiences in such Broadway hits as South Pacific, The Pajama Game and, currently, Nice Work If You Can Get It. At the benefit event, the pair captivated the crowd with Gershwin, Sondheim and other classics from the American songbook, but they also had an urgent message to deliver through a new video, which appears below.

The United Nations, Hyde Park-Image Nation, and Variety have teamed up to produce a non-scripted series featuring filmmakers from The Middle East, India, and Singapore. This unprecedented effort will bring together documentary filmmakers from diverse backgrounds in a filmmaking competition where the contestants must team up to produce one cinematic vision while drawing on their varied cultural perspectives. The show will be hosted by prolific film producer Ashok Amritraj, and will shine a spotlight on a number of United Nations global initiatives. The series is a collaboration between the United Nations, Variety, Hyde Park Entertainment and Image Nation.
