Family Equality Council, the national organization that connects, supports and represents the one million parents who are lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender (LGBT) and their two million children, proudly announces a benefit performance of actor/director Del Shore's one-act play, The Assembly Line.

The Temporary People will perform in "Lessons and Reflections," October 23, October 30, and November 5, 8 p.m., at Balagan Theatre on Capitol Hill. "Lessons and Reflections" combines unexpected humor, observationalist wit, and a sense of the bizarre into one endearingly ominous, humanly sci-fi, grounded insanity of a show. Sir Georg Solti was an exclusive Decca artist for 50 years. In 1947 he signed his first contract with Decca as a pianist and that same year he made his first record as a conductor (with the Zurich Tonhalle in Beethoven's Egmont Overture). His last public concerts, also with the Zurich Tonhalle, took place just a few weeks before his death in 1997.

Premiere Stages has announced Liberty Live, a new producing partnership with the Liberty Hall Museum, located on the campus of Kean University. Liberty Live dramatizes and celebrates the history that helped to make New Jersey what it is today. Today, the New London Maritime Society placed a $100,000 bid with the U.S. General Services Administration to buy Little Gull Island. Save the Sound, a program of Connecticut Fund for the Environment, worked with the New London Maritime Society over the past several weeks to secure funding for the bid from several organizations including the Quebec-Labrador Foundation, New London Community Foundation, and several other anonymous donors.
