American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Young Conservatory (YC) Director Craig Slaight announced today a collaboration with Scotland's Aberdeen Performing Arts (APA) Young Persons Company as part of a two-year summer international exchange program. The purpose of the program is to explore actor training for both companies in unique residencies in Aberdeen and San Francisco. At the conclusion of each year, the companies will present a co-commissioned work at their respective theaters.

American Composers Orchestra (ACO) announces the 2012-2013 installment of coLABoratory: Playing It UNsafe, the first and only professional research and development lab to support the creation of cutting-edge new American orchestral music through no-holds-barred experimentation, encouraging composers to do anything but "play it safe." The composers participating in coLABoratory this season are Du Yun, Troy Herion, Raymond J. Lustig, Judith Sainte Croix, and Dan Visconti, selected from a national search for their willingness to experiment and stretch their own musical sensibilities, and their ability to test the limits of the orchestra. coLABoratory grew out of ACO's ongoing mission to commission and perform new music that expands the range of possibilities for - and challenges conventional notions about - orchestral music.

Rehearsals began last week for Two-time Tony Award winner Norbert Leo Butz and Katie Holmes in DEAD ACCOUNTS, the new comedy by Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck, directed by three-time Tony Award winner Jack O'Brien also starring Judy Greer, Josh Hamilton, and two-time Tony Award nominee Jayne Houdyshell.

Rounding out the Marriott Theatre's 2012 season, MY ONE AND ONLY features an incomparable Gershwin score and thrilling dance. Mary-Arrchie Theatre Co. has announced the return of its Jeff Award nominated production of SUPERIOR DONUTS by Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts, directed by Matt Miller and featuring nearly all of the original Mary-Arrchie cast. Lanford Wilson's romantic comedy, Talley's Folly, will launch Palm Beach Dramaworks' 2012-13 season on Friday, October 12 (8PM) at the Don & Ann Brown Theatre (201 Clematis Street). The production will play a strictly limited engagement through November 11, with specially priced preview performances slated for October 10 and 11. For twelve years, West Palm Beach's only professional, multi-award-winning resident theatre has brought to the Palm Beaches a distinguished roster of plays under the guidance of Producing/Artistic Director William Hayes.

On the heels of the successful Black Watch, the Shakespeare Theatre Company will bring a second production from the National Theatre of Scotland to D.C. audiences. Acclaimed Scottish playwright David Greig's The Strange Undoing of Prudencia Hart will play from November 14-December 9, 2012. For the first time in STC's history, the play will be staged outside of a traditional theatre and will be performed in DuPont Circle's Bier Baron Tavern (1523 22nd Street NW).

Madison Square Garden will celebrate some of the greatest moments in the Arena's more than 130 year history with a special event on Thursday, October 11, at 11am at Madison Square Park, the location of the original and second Garden arenas. The event will unveil the unforgettable moments that will be commemorated through two unique exhibits - "Garden 366" and "Defining Moments" - as part of Phase II of The Garden's historic three-year, top-to-bottom Transformation. Canadian Opera Company General Director Alexander Neef is pleased to announce that Music Director Johannes Debus has signed a new contract with the COC that extends his tenure as Music Director through the 2016/2017 season. Debus joined the COC at the start of the 2009/2010 season with a contract that would have him with the company through 2012/2013.

Flat Rock Playhouse is teaming with veteran Broadway composer Frank Wildhorn (For The Glory, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Wonderland) and lyricist Jack Murphy on a brand new 'jazz age' musical set in Asheville, North Carolina. On Sunday, October 28 at 11am, Boston roots musician and family entertainer Alastair Moock will play a special Halloween show for kids and families at 92Y Tribeca as part of the club's Bring Your Own Kid series.
