Hennepin Theatre Trust announced today that individual tickets for Monty Python's Spamalot and Rock of Ages will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 9, 2012. The award winning Arvada Center will open Miracle on 34th Street, The Musical directed by Gavin Mayer on November 27 running through December 23, 2012 in the Main Stage Theater. The musical is based on the story "Miracle on 34th Street" by Valentine Davies; book, music and lyrics were written and composed by Meredith Willson (The Music Man and The Unsinkable Molly Brown). Performances are Tuesday - Saturday at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday at 1 p.m., Saturday and Sunday at 2 p.m. Preview performances are November 23 - 25. Moderated talkbacks with the cast are offered on Friday, December 7 after 7:30 p.m. show and Wednesday, December 12 after 1:00 p.m. show. Due to extensive power outages in downtown Manhattan as a result of the hurricane, Vineyard Theatre (108 E. 15 St. in Union Square) is cancelling performances of its world-premiere production of CHECKERS until further notice, starting this evening, Tuesday, October 30.

Featuring a concert version of King's Bessie-nominated piece Astral Epitaphs that was commissioned by the Merce Cunningham Dance Company for its final shows at the Park Avenue Armory in Dec. 2011, the music of New York composer John King (www.johnkingmusic.com) will be presented at Brooklyn's Roulette on Friday, December 7 at 8pm.

The final evening of the 2012 American Music Series will present Jim Kweskin and Geoff Muldaur, with special guest, Josh Schurman at the Courthouse Center Stage, West Kingston, RI on Thursday, November 8. Doors open at 7 PM, tickets $25.

Tony Award winner Tonya Pinkins (Caroline or Change) and Broadway performer Nick Adams (Priscilla Queen of the Desert) will perform at a benefit on Monday, November 12th at 7:30 PM at Etcetera Etcetera restaurant 352 West 44th street, to help raise money for The International Theatre and Literacy Project ( ITLP). The Segal Centre for Performing Arts and BMO Financial Group will present the Montreal premiere of RED by John Logan, a captivating look into the life of iconic Abstract-Expressionist painter Mark Rothko. Directed by Canadian stage legend Martha Henry, this six-time Tony Award-winning play will be presented in the Segal Theatre from November 25th to December 16th, 2012.

On November 9 and 10, Company of Fools and the Sun Valley Center for the Arts present Happily Ever After?- an enchanting concert at the Liberty Theatre in Hailey that explores fairy tales in the American musical theatre. The Casting Society of America (CSA) winners were announced last night of the 28th Annual Artios Awards® For Outstanding Achievement in Casting. Hosted by Nicole Sullivan, the award ceremony was held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. In Los Angeles. Presenters included Anna Kendrick, Jeremy Renner, Armie Hammer, Jean Smart, Nat Faxon, Atticus Shaffer, Michael Hoffman, and Cedric the Entertainer. The New York ceremony was canceled due to Hurricane Sandy.

Arlo Guthrie will play the Colonial on November 16 at 8pm to honor his father, Woody Guthrie, and all that he contributed to Folk Music. For this concert only, Arlo will be accompanied by his family, to celebrate Woody Guthrie's life and music.

A free staged reading of Caridad Svich's new play SPARK will be presented on Sunday evening, November 11th at 7:00pm.

Comic icon and self-proclaimed "Undisputed Heavyweight King of Comedy," Andrew Dice Clay, will be taking the Fox Theater stage on Saturday, Feb. 9, 2013, for one outstanding performance. Tickets are $30, $45 and $60, and are available for pre-sale on Thursday, Nov. 1, and for regular sale Friday, Nov. 2 at 10 a.m. The show is presented by Comix At Foxwoods and is intended for mature audiences only.

The Lied Center for Performing Arts at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln will present the Vienna Boys Choir at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 13. The group of 25 boys performs a wide variety of traditional and world music, backed by more than 500 years of Viennese tradition. Due to Hurricane Sandy, the preview performances (Saturday, November 3 at 3:00pm and 7:00pm and Sunday, November 4 at 3:00pm) of the new musical LOUIS ARMSTRONG: JAZZ AMBASSADOR have been canceled. The World-Premiere new musical with book by Myla Churchill (Making Books Sing's "A Band of Angels") and featuring music made famous by Louis Armstong will continue to open on schedule on Sunday, November 4 at 6:00pm at Theater 3 (311 West 43rd Street) in Manhattan, it has been announced by Making Books Sing Artistic Director, Barbara Zinn-Krieger.

Governor Steve Beshear recently appointed a new member to the Kentucky Center for the Performing Arts Board of Directors, and reappointed two others. Dave Calzi, managing partner of of the Louisville office of Ernst & Young, has been appointed to the Board for the first time. Former Metro Louisville First Lady Madeline Abramson has been reappointed as chairman, and consultant Don Parkinson has been reappointed as vice chairman.
