The Public Theater (Artistic Director, Oskar Eustis; Executive Director, Patrick Willingham) and Miller Theatre at Columbia University (Executive Director Melissa Smey) will present the 2012 Brighton Festival production of A WORLD I LOVED: The Story of an Arab Woman, for two nights only, November 28 and 29, at Columbia University's Miller Theatre (2960 Broadway). Written by Mariam C. Said and Vanessa Redgrave, and directed and narrated by Redgrave, A WORLD I LOVED is a one-of-a-kind theatrical event based on the memoir of Said's mother, Wadad Makdisi Cortas, an Arab woman who lived through and chronicled one of the most tumultuous periods in recent history, interweaving her personal experiences as a student, teacher and then principal in a girls' school in Beirut with the wider political and historical narrative of Lebanon throughout the 20th century.

Teatro Vista announced today its three-show line-up for the 2012-13 season - the world premiere of i put the fear of mexico in 'em by Matthew Paul Olmos, directed by Ricardo Gutierrez, running now through December 9 at Chicago Dramatists; the return of the break-out hit from this summer's inaugural Yo Solo Festival, Empanada for a Dream by Juan Francisco Villa, in a co-production with and at 16th Street Theater in Berwyn, February 14-March 16, 2013; and special access for Teatro Vista subscribers to one of the hottest shows in Chicago next spring, the world premiere of The Happiest Song Plays Last by Quiara Alegría Hudes at Goodman Theatre, directed by Teatro Vista Co-Artistic Director Edward Torres, and featuring Ensemble member Sandra Marquez, April 13-May 12, 2013.

Trinity Rep has announced the return of last winter's premiere event- Red White & Blues, a casual evening featuring food, wine, and dancing to the music of local band The Silks. Co-chaired by Gil MacLean and his wife Michelle Collie, sponsored by MacLean's store, Bottles Fine Wine, the benefit party will take place on Saturday January 12 from 7PM to midnight at the Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire St., Providence. Tu I Teraz, written by Nicola Werenowska and directed by Sam Potter will run at the Hampstead Theatre Downstairs from 18 December to 19 January, with press night on 20 December. Tu I Teraz has set design by Kerry Bradley, lighting by Matt O'Leary and sound by Steve Mayo, and the cast is Ania Sowinski (Marysia), Anna Elijasz (Ana) and George Lasha (Janusz). Following his recent visit to Walt Disney Concert Hall with his Philharmonia Orchestra, LA Phil Conductor Laureate Esa-Pekka Salonen returns to lead the LA Phil in its celebration of the 100th anniversary of the birth of one of the 20th century's pre-eminent composers, Witold Lutos?awski. The Lutos?awski Centenary includes two orchestral concerts and one Green Umbrella event with the LA Phil New Music Group between November 30 and December 9. The celebration begins with performances Friday and Saturday, November 30 and December 1, at 8 pm, as well as Sunday, December 2, at 2 pm, featuring the composer's Symphony No. 1, which will be recorded live to complete a Salonen/LA Phil cycle of the composer's four symphonies to be released on Sony Classical in January 2013. Also to be recorded is Fanfare for Los Angeles Philharmonic, a short piece for brass and percussion, written by Lutos?awski in celebration of the LA Phil's 75th anniversary season. This quintessential Salonen program pairs Lutos?awski with Beethoven, as he had done for his Beethoven Unbound festival in the 2004/05 season - this time with King Stephen Overture and Symphony No. 2.

Lifeline Theatre Artistic Director Dorothy Milne announces the addition of the Chicago premiere of The Three Musketeers, an adaptation of the swashbuckling classic by Alexandre Dumas, to close out the company's 2012-13 season. The Three Musketeers replaces the previously announced Bridge of Birds and runs May 31-July 21, 2013.
