Trinity Rep has announced the return of last winter's premiere event– REd White & Blues, a casual evening featuring food, wine, and dancing to the music of local band The Silks. Co-chaired by Gil MacLean and his wife Michelle Collie, sponsored by MacLean's store, Bottles Fine Wine, the benefit party will take place on Saturday January 12 from 7PM to midnight at the Pell Chafee Performance Center, 87 Empire St., Providence. Tickets are $60 in advance, $70 after December 24 and are available now online at www.trinityrep.com, by phone at 401-351-4242, in person at the Trinity Rep Box Office at 201 Washington St. A $100 VIP ticket is also available, which includes parking for the event and entrance into an exclusive champagne tasting once inside. The wine tasting will be complimented by delicious culinary offerings from several local restaurants.

"The inaugural event was such a success; we couldn't wait to bring it back." said Richard L. Bready Artistic Director Curt Columbus, who conceived of the annual event last year with his partner, Nathan Watson. "Our fabulous area restaurateurs, Bottles, and the bluesy sounds of The Silks make for the perfect evening for a January night in Providence, where our downtown nightlife just keeps getting better."

More than 275 guests attended last year's REd White & Blues, and sampled wines and savory treats before dancing the night away at the Pell Chafee Performance Center.

All proceeds go towards Trinity Rep's artistic and educational programming.

Formed in the summer of 2010, The Silks have burst onto the country blues scene in New England with ferocity and enthusiasm. Front-man and songwriter Tyler James Kelly has managed to assemble a cast of musicians with resumes consisting of The Midnight Creeps, Brown Bird, Cowgirl, and The Sugar Honey Iced Tea, and blending it into a sound that is all their own. With compliments that vary from drawing comparisons to The Rolling Stones in style and songwriting to a soundman shouting "that's the most fun I've ever had!" after a show, The Silks have garnered a reputation as a band that everyone found themselves wanting to see overnight.
