Choreographers Brian Brooks, Beth Gill and Pontus Lidberg have been awarded New York City Center's 2012-13 Choreography Fellowships. The Fellowship program was launched in conjunction with the theater's reopening season in 2011-12 with a mission to support choreographers at critical stages in their careers. It reflects City Center's long history of nurturing dance makers from George Balanchine to Christopher Wheeldon.

In the final appearance of Chaplin's iconic Little Tramp (the character that brought him world fame), the incomparable actor-director created a comedy about man's struggle to survive in the industrialized world during the Great Depression. William Eddins conducts the Orchestra. Performing with the Orchestra in the roles of singing waiters will be Brent Chamberlin, Jason Levy, Rohan Mandelia, and Matthew Rizer.

Cirque du Soleil returns to Calgary with its latest big top production Amaluna which premieres on April 11, 2013 for a limited engagement under the blue-and-yellow Big Top at Stampede Park (Lot #6). Directed by Diane Paulus, a renowned theatre director from New York, Amaluna had its world-premiere in Montreal in April 2012 and is now touring North America.

n artist Cole Sternberg's ongoing socio-political discussion, Sternberg delves into the idea of consumption as a perceived 'right' of Americans; a 'right' that is perpetuated and celebrated by the media to thus spread like wildfire through the world. On Friday, December 7, 2012 from 4:00pm - 7:00pm, Cole Sternberg along with Flaunt Magazine and Primary Projects present a conceptual performance, gestural painted photographs and works on canvas and linen.

On Saturday, December 15th, The Police Athletic League (PAL), the city's largest, independent, nonprofit youth organization, and CitySights NY, the leader in New York City tours, sightseeing, and attractions, will team up to host many hundreds of boys and girls, ages five to seven, from all five boroughs at a festive holiday party filled with arts and crafts, board games, face painting, inflatable rides, and holiday treats. There will also be a special visit from Santa who will arrive atop a CitySights NY bus filled with over 2,000 toys for the children.

American Theater Company announces the world premiere of the revised version of columbinus, written by Stephen Karam and PJ Paparelli, with dramaturgy by Patricia Hersch, and conceived and directed by Artistic Director PJ Paparelli. The 2013 production will premiere a revised second act devised from recent interviews with survivors, families of victims and residents of Littleton. The new material includes never-before-released information on the shooters and their families and first-hand accounts of both the Columbine and Aurora shootings. columbinus will run February 1 - March 10, 2013, at American Theater Company, 1909 W Byron St, Chicago, IL. Press opening is Wednesday, February 6, at 7:00 pm.

Freedom Hill Amphitheatre, one of the region's premier outdoor entertainment venues, which has been closed since 2009, is set to open to the public on June 1, 2013. The announcement was made jointly at a press event today by Freedom Hill Amphitheatre ownership/management, Joe Vicari of Andiamo Restaurant Group and Tom Celani of Luna Entertainment, and Macomb County Executive Mark Hackel.

The Second City has announced the Musical and Special Guest line-up for this year's "The Second City That Never Sleeps: Letters to Santa," a 24-hour benefit marathon of improvisational and music fun on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at 6:00pm in The Second City e.t.c. Theatre (1608 N. Wells, 2nd Floor of Piper's Alley) through Wednesday, December 19 at 6:00pm. Proceeds benefit families from Chicago's Onward Neighborhood House.
