Regina Spektor Performs at Bass Concert Hall, 11/5

C3 Presents and Texas Performing Arts present Regina Spektor, Monday, November 5 at Bass Concert Hall. Regina Spektor’s extraordinary voice has guided the way through a prolific catalogue filled with songs of satire, heartache, and novelty, manifested in six critically acclaimed studio albums. 

Spektor studied classical piano and garnered a loyal live following in New York before self- releasing two albums. Her breakthrough album Soviet Kitsch was released by Sire Records in 2004, followed by Begin to Hopein 2006. Certified gold in the U.S., Begin to Hope included worldwide fan favorites “Fidelity,” “Samson,” “On The Radio,” and “Better.” In 2009 Spektor recorded far and in 2010 Live from London, which was laid down at the Hammersmith Apollo Theater during the far tour.

Spektor’s latest offering, What We Saw From The Cheap Seats. This 2012 release showcases Spektor’s wild imagination, vast vocal range, and incredible mastering of song writing.

Opening for Spektor will be New York songwriter Only Son. Jack Dishel, the man behind Only Son, has lent his musical talents to many critically acclaimed performers over his impressive career, having previously performed with Nickel Eye, Stipplicon, and The Moldy Peaches.

Only Son’s latest release ‘Searchlight’ sees Dishel collaborating with the likes of The Strokes, Of Montreal, and Little Joy for an album that showcases his impeccable song writing talent. The album features a duet written and performed with Spektor.
