Steppenwolf Theatre Company has announced the casting and creative teams for Garage Rep 2013, featuring Bailiwick Chicago's See What I Wanna See, Buzz22 Chicago's She Kills Monsters and Theatre Seven of Chicago's BlackTop Sky. These innovative storefront companies perform in rotating repertory for a ten-week run, February 15 - April 21, 2013; performances are scheduled Wednesday through Friday at 8pm, and Saturday and Sunday at 4pm and 8pm in The Steppenwolf Garage (1624 N Halsted St). 11th Hour Theatre Company opens its Mainstage season with the Philadelphia area premiere Roger Bean's Winter Wonderettes. In this sequel to 11th Hour's summer smash hit, The Marvelous Wonderettes, four best friends set out to spread a little Christmas cheer at Mr. Harper's annual holiday party. This show features some of the most popular pop holiday songs of all time. The show will run at the brand new Theatre Horizon, 401 Dekalb Street, Norristown. It begins previews on Friday, December 7, opens Monday, December 10 at 7 p.m. and closes Sunday, December 30. Tickets cost $15-$31. Discount tickets are available for students. Craig Wright's Grace, starring Paul Rudd and Academy Award nominee Michael Shannon, with Kate Arrington and seven-time Emmy Award-winner Ed Asner, opened on October 4, 2012 at Broadway's Cort Theatre (138 West 48th Street). It will close January 6, and Asner invites audiences to catch the final weeks in the video below.

On the occasion of the fifth anniversary of the New Museum's monthly Get Weird music series, the Museum has produced a special limited-edition Playbutton-a wearable MP3 player button. Get Weird was established with the belief that contemporary art is a dialogue and music is an inextricable part of this conversation. Expanding on the rich music history of the Bowery neighborhood, the series has presented over forty programs since 2007. The Get Weird Playbuttoncompiles fifteen live performances from the first five years of the series.

The Lincoln Center Theater production of VANYA AND SONIA AND MASHA AND SPIKE, a new play by Christopher Durang, directed by Nicholas Martin has been extended through Sunday, January 20 at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65th Street). The production, which features Genevieve Angelson, Shalita Grant, Billy Magnussen, Kristine Nielsen, David Hyde Pierce and Sigourney Weaver, opened on Monday November 12 was originally scheduled to run through Sunday, January 13.

Short Story Theatre presents an evening of storytelling on Tuesday, December 18, at 7 p.m. at The Laughing Chameleon, 1830 Tower Drive in Glenview in the Glen. Four storytellers, including Susan Block and Rick Leslie, both of Highland Park, Mary Lou Gilliam of Deerfield, and Donna Lubow of Riverwoods, will tell true stories about a day at the beach, revenge of a fifth-grader, missing silverware, and a kidnapping that ties in with 9/11 and a lost boy.

The Pearl Theatre Company will continue its 29th season-and its first season in its new, permanent home on West 42nd Street-with the New York premiere of James DeVita's In Acting Shakespeare. In this adaptation of Sir Ian McKellen's 1987 one-man show, DeVita expertly weaves his personal journey from the fishing boats of Long Island to a theatrical career with details from Shakespeare's life and poetry. In Acting Shakespeare is a comedic and heartfelt tribute to the transformational power of theater.

SILENCE! The Musical will end its 18-month run Sunday evening, December 30th at the Elektra Theatre. The production will have played a total of 447 performances and eight previews. Originally announced as a strictly limited engagement through August 13, 2011, SILENCE! was extended numerous times by popular demand and transferred theatres twice, ultimately landing at the new Elektra Theatre in the heart of Times Square, which was constructed especially for the show. SILENCE! spawned an L.A. production, which is currently running through this Sunday, December 9th at the Hayworth Theatre starring Davis Gaines and Christine Lakin.
