The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra has named Richard Dare its new President & CEO. Hailed as "one of America's most highly regarded international entrepreneurs" by Conde Nast Portfolio, Dare comes to the NJSO from his position as Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the Brooklyn Philharmonic.

Recording Artist and former American Idol Finalist, Melinda Doolittle, will appear this month with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops as part of their "Holiday Pops 2012" program. Known for her soulful tones and bright spirits, Melinda will bring her signature vocal style to select performances with the legendary local orchestra. A frequent 'Pops' guest, Melinda appears in the annual pastime this year to provide guest vocals for a recording to be released at a later date. Miss Doolittle will appear for select performances on December 13th and 14th at Symphony Hall.

Pianist Simone Dinnerstein gained international success from her recording of Bach's Goldberg Variations, which ranked No. 1 on the US Billboard Classical Chart in its first week of sales. Released in 2007 on Telarc, it was named to many "Best of" lists including those of The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, and The New Yorker. Ms. Dinnerstein will perform the Goldberg Variations live on Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 8pm at Hamilton Stage for the Performing Arts (360 Hamilton Street) as part of the Good Music Mostly Classical Concert Series.

Sundance Institute announced today the films from the 2013 Sundance Film Festival that will screen in 10 independent theaters in cities across the country on January 31 as part of the Sundance Film Festival USA initiative. FREUD'S LAST SESSION, New York's long-running hit play by Mark St. Germain, is set to open in Los Angeles next month starring Judd Hirsch as Sigmund Freud and Tom Cavanagh as C. S. Lewis under the direction of Tyler Marchant, who helmed the original New York production. Rehearsals begin today in New York City. Presented by The Broad Stage and CRC Productions, FREUD'S LAST SESSION will begin performances January 11th for a strictly limited engagement through February 10th at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica.

Olney Theatre Center announces that Martin Platt is no longer serving as the Artistic Director of the Theatre. An Artistic Director search will begin immediately and Olney Theatre Center plans to fill this position by early 2013. In the interim, Alan Wade will be serving as our Artistic Director.
