Today, July 2, the London Hilton hosted the O2 Silver Clef Awards 2010 in London, England. This is the 35th year of this annual charity award show that raises money for the Nordoff Robbins - a charity that helps the sick and disabled with music therapy. TNT's FALLING SKIES, the eagerly anticipated series from DreamWorks Television and executive producer Steven Spielberg, is coming Comic-Con. The series stars Noah Wyle. The drama series, slated to premiere in summer 2011, envisions a world where aliens have invaded, and the fate of humanity lies in the hands of a few survivors. The series stars Noah Wyle (ER, TNT's The Librarian movies) and Moon Bloodgood (Terminator Salvation). Also on the FALLING SKIES team is co-executive producer and writer Mark Verheiden (Heroes, Battlestar Galactica). The 3 of them will attend Comic-Con for a Q&A panel session scheduled to take place Friday, July 23, from 4:45 p.m. - 5:45 p.m. (PT) in Room 6A. A Red Orchid Theatre opens its 2010-2011 season with LOUIS SLOTIN SONATA, written by Paul Mullin and directed by Ensemble Member Karen Kessler. As has been widely reported, Artist David Ilan has been in the process of creating a Michael Jackson tribute painting using the pointillism style in which the paiting is comprised of dots. For the tribute, each dot represents a different influential person. At a special recognition ceremony yesterday, June 21, Ilan added a 'dot' in honor of Dr. Maya Angelou at Angelou's home in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. David Ilan is attempting to get a million people, each being represented by a dot, to make up the Michael Jackson tribute portrait.
