Photo Flash: Hugh Jackman Opens in Concert in Toronto!July 6, 2011For two weeks only this summer, Tony Award Winning stage and screen star Hugh Jackman is gracing the stage of The Princess of Wales Theatre with his one man show. After a sold-out run in San Francisco, Mirvish Productions has brought Jackman's show to Toronto, which opened to rave reviews last night, July 5. The show runs through July 17. Jackman's show consists of a personal selection of his favourite musical numbers including selections from 'The Boy from Oz' and stories from his own experiences in Hollywood. Michael McKean, John Douglas Thompson & Enid Graham Join Sam Waterston in KING LEAR at the Public This FallJuly 5, 2011The Public Theater has announced initial casting today for KING LEAR, directed by James Macdonald this fall. Michael McKean, John Douglas Thompson and Enid Graham will play Gloucester, Kent and Goneril, respectively, joining the previously announced Sam Waterston as King Lear. KING LEAR will run October 18 - November 20 in the Newman Theater. Member tickets are $40; Single tickets, priced at $75-$85, will go on sale in August.
Lily Allen Reveals BRIDGET JONES Musical Nearing Completion; 2012 Opening Possible July 5, 2011Bridget_Jones_20010101
As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, the musical version of Helen Fielding's popular novel, 'Bridget Jones's Diary,' is in the works with aspirations to open in the West End. Fielding is working with British recording artist Lily Allen and Greg Kurstin on the musical's score and lyrics and is working on the book with assistance from Julian Webber. Stephen Daldry, the director of BILLY ELLIOT, directed the recent workshop alongside Webber and choreographer Peter Darling; Working Title is producing the project.

It was just announced yesterday that Kim Cattrall and Paul Gross will star on Broadway this autumn in Noël Coward's Private Lives directed by Richard Eyre at the Music Box Theatre. Previews will begin on Sunday November 6; opening night is Thursday November 17. The limited engagement runs through February 5 2012. Cattrall starred as Amanda in Sir Richard Eyre's production of Private Lives at London's Vaudeville Theatre in 2010. The production received rave reviews from the critics and played a sell-out season. It will play a limited run at Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre prior to Broadway. Cattrall will be joined by Paul Gross in the role of Elyot for the production.
