Jessica Lewis Jessica has worked in theater for nearly ten years. She has worked in theatrical production for the producers of STOMP, DAMN YANKEES, NUNSENSE, DINNER WITH FRIENDS and more, and for over 5 years has been involved in the Whoopi Goldberg-produced White Noise, having discovered the production at the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival. She has since helped foster its growth through multiple large-scale workshops and two major commercial productions as an Associate Producer. After dedicating many years to theatrical and live entertainment production work that has taken her all over the world in 2009 she assumed the post of Senior Managing Editor at BroadwayWorld.com, the largest theater site on the net, for which she controls operations, routinely interviews Broadway's A-list talent and films/edits a bulk of the sites popular BWW TV content. She is a graduate of Brown University and has worked professionally in production for the Brown University Department of Theatre, Speech and Dance, Rights and Reasons Theatre, the New York Theatre Workshop and more.

Last week, BroadwayWorld launched a new weekly poll series, beginning with the question of which Tony-winning or nominated show of old was the most desired Broadway revival. Though a close race, PIPPIN came out on top amongst thousands of votes with a 21% majority.

On June 29, 2011, The Bridge Project opened Richard III starring The Old Vic Artistic Director Kevin Spacey at The Old Vic in London. The production will embark on an international tour including the Athens & Epidaurus Festival, Spain's Centro Niemeyer, Hong Kong Arts Festival, and Singapore Repertory Theatre, arriving at BAM's Harvey Theater in New York in January 2012. For two weeks only this summer, Tony Award Winning stage and screen star Hugh Jackman is gracing the stage of The Princess of Wales Theatre with his one man show. After a sold-out run in San Francisco, Mirvish Productions has brought Jackman's show to Toronto, which opened to rave reviews last night, July 5. The show runs through July 17. Jackman's show consists of a personal selection of his favourite musical numbers including selections from 'The Boy from Oz' and stories from his own experiences in Hollywood. The Public Theater has announced initial casting today for KING LEAR, directed by James Macdonald this fall. Michael McKean, John Douglas Thompson and Enid Graham will play Gloucester, Kent and Goneril, respectively, joining the previously announced Sam Waterston as King Lear. KING LEAR will run October 18 - November 20 in the Newman Theater. Member tickets are $40; Single tickets, priced at $75-$85, will go on sale in August.

Bridget_Jones_20010101 As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, the musical version of Helen Fielding's popular novel, 'Bridget Jones's Diary,' is in the works with aspirations to open in the West End. Fielding is working with British recording artist Lily Allen and Greg Kurstin on the musical's score and lyrics and is working on the book with assistance from Julian Webber. Stephen Daldry, the director of BILLY ELLIOT, directed the recent workshop alongside Webber and choreographer Peter Darling; Working Title is producing the project.

On Monday, June 27, Sex & The City actress Kim Cattrall spoke about her career, offering insights to fellow actors as part of the SAG Foundation's Conversations Program presented at the presented at the NYIT Auditorium on Broadway. BroadwayWorld was on hand for the talk and brings you the full discussion below! It was just announced yesterday that Kim Cattrall and Paul Gross will star on Broadway this autumn in Noël Coward's Private Lives directed by Richard Eyre at the Music Box Theatre. Previews will begin on Sunday November 6; opening night is Thursday November 17. The limited engagement runs through February 5 2012. Cattrall starred as Amanda in Sir Richard Eyre's production of Private Lives at London's Vaudeville Theatre in 2010. The production received rave reviews from the critics and played a sell-out season. It will play a limited run at Toronto's Royal Alexandra Theatre prior to Broadway. Cattrall will be joined by Paul Gross in the role of Elyot for the production.

Always wanted to catch THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA on Broadway? On Monday, July 4, 2011, PHANTOM will be the only show running on Broadway with one performance at 8pm. While most Broadway shows are 'dark' on Mondays (serving as the company's day off), MAMMA MIA!, ROCK OF AGES, PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT, CHICAGO and GHETTO KLOWN do regularly perform on Mondays along with PHANTOM, however are celebrating an altered schedule for next week to accommodate the holiday.
