Jessica Lewis Jessica has worked in theater for nearly ten years. She has worked in theatrical production for the producers of STOMP, DAMN YANKEES, NUNSENSE, DINNER WITH FRIENDS and more, and for over 5 years has been involved in the Whoopi Goldberg-produced White Noise, having discovered the production at the 2006 New York Musical Theatre Festival. She has since helped foster its growth through multiple large-scale workshops and two major commercial productions as an Associate Producer. After dedicating many years to theatrical and live entertainment production work that has taken her all over the world in 2009 she assumed the post of Senior Managing Editor at BroadwayWorld.com, the largest theater site on the net, for which she controls operations, routinely interviews Broadway's A-list talent and films/edits a bulk of the sites popular BWW TV content. She is a graduate of Brown University and has worked professionally in production for the Brown University Department of Theatre, Speech and Dance, Rights and Reasons Theatre, the New York Theatre Workshop and more.

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced complete casting for the New York premiere of AFTER THE REVOLUTION, a new play by Amy Herzog (Missed Connections, 508 at Ars Nova, Hungry at EST). Directed by Carolyn Cantor (Essential Self-Defense at PH, Pumpgirl, Orange Water Flower), the production will begin previews Thursday, October 21 at 7:30 PM. With an Opening Night set for Tuesday, November 9 at 7PM, the limited engagement will play through Sunday, November 28 at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street). AFTER THE REVOLUTION will be the second production of the theater company's 40th Anniversary Season.

FELA! will receive Actors' Equity Association's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) fourth annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. The award, the only industry award of its kind, honors the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical. The award ceremony will be held in the Council Room, at Equity's headquarters in the heart of Times Square on Tuesday, September 28, 2010.

Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that Al Pacino's star power has earned The Merchant of Venice the winners spot for the fall's highest advance generating show. The production, which opens at the Broadhurst Theatre on November 7, 2010, has reportedly taken in approximately $4M, beating out all incoming fall plays and musicals.

Variety reports today that stage and screen star Rachel Weisz will re-team with The Constant Gardner director Fernando Meirelles on his newest film, 360. The film is written by Peter Morgan. Austrian broadcaster ORF and BBC Films will present 360, which is being produced by Andrew Eaton and David Linde.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that former RACE co-stars Kerry Washington and David Alan Grier will re-team on the film We the Peeples for 34th Street Films. They will star alongside Craig Robinson. Filming begins in Connecticut in November.

Whatsonstage.com is reporting that Michael Ball will perform in concert at the Prince of Wales Theatre on October 10, 2010. The concert will benefit The Shooting Stars Children's Hospice, which treats terminal illnesses in children in in West London and North Surrey. As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, Celebrity Autobiography made its UK debut at the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival from August 5 - 30 with a cast featuring Michael Urie, Caroline Rhea, Jennifer Coolidge, Mike McShane, James Lance, Phill Jupitus, Rufus Hound and George Wendt. Today, Whatsonstage.com reports that Michael Urie will transfer with the show for its London debut at the Leicester Square Theatre on October 4, 2010. The show will play through October 9, 2010 at the theater and then run continuously every Monday through January 10, 2011.

From April 28, 2011 through May 28, 2011, the Melbourne Theatre Company will present the Australian premiere of the 2010 Pulitzer-Prize winning Broadway hit, Next To Normal. The production, which is being directed by Dean Bryant and musical directed by Matthew Frank, will star Matt Hetherington and Kate Kendall. Additional casting announcements are forthcoming.

New York magazine editor-in-chief Adam Moss announced today that Scott Brown will be the magazine's theater critic. Brown joins New York magazine's staff and will write reviews for both the print magazine and the web, and daily posts to the Vulture online entertainment magazine. Brown has been a part-time reviewer for the magazine for the last two years and he starts in his new capacity on September 21.
