BroadwayWorld has learned that Stephen R. Buntrock will take over for Alexander Hanson in the role of Frederick Egerman in the Broadway revival of A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC on September 28, 2010. Hanson will take his final bow on September 26, 2010.

As previously reported, Nederlander Sales & Patron Services, Camp Broadway®, Broadwayworld.com and Planet Hollywood presented the 2nd annual Educators Expo on Monday, September 20 at the Minskoff Theatre. The At This Stage Education Expo showcased the wide variety of educational programs being offered by Broadway and Off-Broadway shows, Times Square area attractions and other industry service organizations. As BroadwayWorld has previously reported Liza Minnelli released the most intimate and revealing recording of her career, Confesssions, Today, September 21st (Decca). A collection of American classics, Confessions features some of Minnelli's favorite songs of all time, arranged simply and elegantly, with accompaniment by her long-time pianist Billy Stritch.

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) has announced complete casting for the New York premiere of AFTER THE REVOLUTION, a new play by Amy Herzog (Missed Connections, 508 at Ars Nova, Hungry at EST). Directed by Carolyn Cantor (Essential Self-Defense at PH, Pumpgirl, Orange Water Flower), the production will begin previews Thursday, October 21 at 7:30 PM. With an Opening Night set for Tuesday, November 9 at 7PM, the limited engagement will play through Sunday, November 28 at Playwrights Horizons' Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 West 42nd Street). AFTER THE REVOLUTION will be the second production of the theater company's 40th Anniversary Season.

Theatre Ventures in association with Unique Features will present the new Broadway musical ELF, starring Sebastian Arcelus, Amy Spanger, Tony® Award winner Beth Leavel (Emily), Tony® Award nominee Mark Jacoby (Walter), Matthew Gumley (Michael), Valerie Wright (Deb), Michael McCormick (Mr. Greenway), Michael Mandell (Store Manager) and six-time Emmy® Award winner George Wendt (Santa) this season.

FELA! will receive Actors' Equity Association's Advisory Committee on Chorus Affairs (ACCA) fourth annual ACCA Award for Outstanding Broadway Chorus. The award, the only industry award of its kind, honors the distinctive talents and contributions made by the original chorus members of a Broadway musical. The award ceremony will be held in the Council Room, at Equity's headquarters in the heart of Times Square on Tuesday, September 28, 2010.

The composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim is the most important artist to work in the American musical theatre over the past half-century. He has not only collaborated on more than a dozen landmark shows and written countless standard songs, but has also been the single most influential force in bringing the Broadway musical into the modern age.

Michael Riedel reports in the New York Post this morning that Al Pacino's star power has earned The Merchant of Venice the winners spot for the fall's highest advance generating show. The production, which opens at the Broadhurst Theatre on November 7, 2010, has reportedly taken in approximately $4M, beating out all incoming fall plays and musicals.

Variety reports today that stage and screen star Rachel Weisz will re-team with The Constant Gardner director Fernando Meirelles on his newest film, 360. The film is written by Peter Morgan. Austrian broadcaster ORF and BBC Films will present 360, which is being produced by Andrew Eaton and David Linde.

The Hollywood Reporter reveals that former RACE co-stars Kerry Washington and David Alan Grier will re-team on the film We the Peeples for 34th Street Films. They will star alongside Craig Robinson. Filming begins in Connecticut in November.

As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, John Stamos is one of many celebrity guest stars lined up for the second season of GLEE, which premieres tonight, September 21, on Fox. Today, Stamos posted this shot of him with the GLEE cast via his twitter.

Whatsonstage.com is reporting that Michael Ball will perform in concert at the Prince of Wales Theatre on October 10, 2010. The concert will benefit The Shooting Stars Children's Hospice, which treats terminal illnesses in children in in West London and North Surrey. Additional guest stars for the concert will be announced shortly.

As BroadwayWorld has previously reported, Celebrity Autobiography made its UK debut at the renowned Edinburgh Fringe Festival from August 5 - 30 with a cast featuring Michael Urie, Caroline Rhea, Jennifer Coolidge, Mike McShane, James Lance, Phill Jupitus, Rufus Hound and George Wendt. Today, Whatsonstage.com reports that Michael Urie will transfer with the show for its London debut at the Leicester Square Theatre on October 4, 2010. The show will play through October 9, 2010 at the theater and then run continuously every Monday through January 10, 2011.

The 2010 New York Comedy Festival in association with Comedy Central will present Rosie O'Donnell live on Friday, November 5 at 8:00 PM, at Town Hall in New York City.

From April 28, 2011 through May 28, 2011, the Melbourne Theatre Company will present the Australian premiere of the 2010 Pulitzer-Prize winning Broadway hit, Next To Normal. The production, which is being directed by Dean Bryant and musical directed by Matthew Frank, will star Matt Hetherington and Kate Kendall. Additional casting announcements are forthcoming.

Jordan Roth, President of Jujamcyn Theaters, launched a new season of his multi-evening conversation series, 'Broadway Talks,' at the 92nd Street Y with Grammy Award-winning vocalist and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day and Tony Award-winning Director Michael Mayer. Among other topics, Roth, Armstrong and Mayer discussed the current Broadway production of American Idiot, the new musical based on the landmark Green Day recording. The Public Theater, Jeffrey Richards and Jerry Frankel, producers of BLOODY BLOODY ANDREW JACKSON are pleased to announce that the show will begin selling daily lottery tickets to the public beginning on Tuesday, September 21st.

New York magazine editor-in-chief Adam Moss announced today that Scott Brown will be the magazine's theater critic. Brown joins New York magazine's staff and will write reviews for both the print magazine and the web, and daily posts to the Vulture online entertainment magazine. Brown has been a part-time reviewer for the magazine for the last two years and he starts in his new capacity on September 21.
