The American Theatre Wing announced today that the recipients of the 2011 Jonathan Larson® Grants are Danny Larsen (Composer/Co-Lyricist) & Michelle Elliott (Bookwriter/Co-Lyricist), Cloaked; Marisa Michelson (Composer) & Joshua H. Cohen (Bookwriter/Lyricist), Tamar and the River; and Andy Monroe (Composer), Jack Lechner (Lyricist) & Michael Zam (Bookwriter), The Kid. The prestigious grants, totaling $10,000, will be presented on Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at a private event in New York City. The event will feature special performances of the recipients' work.

Ruthie Henshall, Alison Steadman, Robert Bathurst, and Hermione Norris star in BLITHE SPIRIT which just opened at the Apollo Theatre in the West End. The production had played Bath's Theatre Royal from November 3-13, the Brighton Theatre Royal from November 16-21, Cambridge's Arts Theatre from November 22-27, the Milton Keynes Theatre from February 14-19 and the Richmond Theatre from February 21-26. The Mariinsky (Kirov) Ballet joins the previously-announced Royal Shakespeare Company and The Cleveland Orchestra, completing the trio of leading performing ensembles coming to New York this summer as part of Lincoln Center Festival 2011. Nigel Redden, Festival Director, today announced the complete Festival schedule, which runs from July 5 through August 14. In a co-presentation with the Metropolitan Opera, the renowned Mariinsky (Kirov) Ballet returns to the Festival for eight performances at the Met Opera House, dancing three programs. Highlighting the company's appearance are the U.S. premieres of Anna Karenina and The Little Humpbacked Horse, evening-length ballets by critically-acclaimed choreographer Alexei Ratmansky set to music by leading Russian composer Rodion Shchedrin. A third program pairs Alberto Alonso's Carmen Suite, to Shchedrin's arrangement of Bizet's score, and George Balanchine's neo-classical masterwork Symphony in C, also with music by Bizet. Artistic Director of the Mariinsky, Valery Gergiev will conduct the Mariinsky Orchestra.

Producer Daryl Roth announced today that Sonia Manzano (Maria on 'Sesame Street'), Anne Meara ('Sex and the City'; Stiller & Meara), Fredi Walker-Browne (original cast of Rent) and Rumer Willis (The House Bunny; '90210') will join upcoming casts of the hit Off Broadway show Love, Loss, and What I Wore, now in its second smash year at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43 Street).

Producer Daryl Roth announced today that Emmy Award nominee Lee Pace ('Pushing Daisies') and Emmy and Golden Globe-winner Jim Parsons ('The Big Bang Theory') have joined the cast of Larry Kramer's ground-breaking play, The Normal Heart. In their Broadway debuts, Pace will play Bruce Niles and Parsons will play Tommy Boatwright, joining the previously announced Joe Mantello as Ned Weeks, Ellen Barkin as Dr. Emma Brookner and John Benjamin Hickey as Felix Turner. Joel Grey will direct the production, which begins its limited 12-week engagement on Tuesday, April 19 at the John Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street), with an official opening night set for Wednesday, April 27.

Artistic Director Jenny Gersten announced today the Nikos Stage line-up for the 2011 Williamstown Theatre Festival (WTF), the company's 57th season and the first under Ms. Gersten's leadership. The Nikos Stage season kicks-off on June 22, 2011 and runs through August 21, 2011 and will include revivals of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire and Henrik Ibsen's A Doll's House, along with three new works: Lewis Black's One Slight Hitch, the East Coast Premiere of Bess Wohl's Touch(ed), and The Civilians' production of You Better Sit Down: tales from my parents' divorce. Virginia's Tony Award®-winning Signature Theatre, through its groundbreaking American Musical Voices Project (AMVP), presents the musical comedy And the Curtain Rises (formerly known as Wheatley's Folly). Beginning performances on Thursday, March 17, 2011, And the Curtain Rises marks the third production presented as part of Signature's AMVP, the largest commissioning program for new musicals in the country, following Michael John LaChiusa's Giant in 2009 and Ricky Ian Gordon's Sycamore Trees last year.

According to a report in the Wall Street Journal, the U.S. Department of Labor's Occupational Safety and Health Administration has formally slapped the production of SPIDER-MAN with three 'serious' safety violations pertaining to the injuries infamously sustained by several cast members late last year.

The Spidey Project: With Great Power Comes Great Responsibility sold out it's first show this evening in under one minute. Due to such high demand for this event, a second show has now been announced by brain-child Justin Moran.
