Theatre Journalist Guest Blogger: Michael Hartung has written 4 articles for BroadwayWorld since 2001, covering Boston theatre.
Michael Hartung is a New York City based actor and writer currently swashbuckling around the Berkshires in Barrington Stage Company’s ‘Pirates of Penzance’. Originally hailing from Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, Michael trained at the University of Michigan and the Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts in London, England. You may recognize him as Sniffler, the allergic lost boy in NBC’s holiday extravaganza, ‘Peter Pan Live!’. If that doesn’t ring a bell, then you must be thinking of his other favorite credits at The St. Louis Muny, Houston’s Theatre Under The Stars, Music Theater of Wichita, The Gateway Playhouse or the West Virginia Public Theater. When Michael is not acting he takes pen to paper (or rather fingers to Macbook), writing for George Takei’s social media company, The Social Edge. You can see his work (ranging from cutting edge cat listicles to honestly terrifying political pieces) on the-daily.buzz. Instagram.com/michaeljhartung
I can't even tell you how many times I have had a conversation that goes something like this: 'Why do I do this?' As an actor this can feel like a hard question to answer.
